Having Trouble with Transferring Map Packs

So I buy a second XBOX360, but when I try to move a copy of the Defiant/Noble map packs from the first XBOX to the other it doesn’t say I have them.

Here are the steps when I tried to move them over:

  1. My first XBOX 360(has an internal hard drive, another 320 GB hard drive, and a USB memory stick for transferring the stuff) has my maps and map packs.

  2. I move the maps/map packs from the internal hard drive to the USB memory stick.

  3. I then take it out (when it’s off) and put it into the other XBOX (which has a 250 GB hard drive). Then I move the stuff from the memory stick into the hard drive.

  4. When I get onto Halo Reach and chose the hard drive and go into forge/custom games, the maps say that I have to buy them again or redeem the codes for them.

So can somebody help me out so I don’t have to buy them again? I don’t want to use the first XBOX since it’s a family one and the second one is just meant for me to play alone.

I cant help you with what you are doing but i would suggest signing into the new Xbox with the XBL account that originally downloaded the DLC maps with and just re-download them. The System will know that you have already paid for them and you should not have to re-purchase them. It may say a cost next to the map but just click on download and it should download again.

Most of my friends have had issues with tranferring data from one hard drive to another and re downloading the map packs is the best way to go.

Well I am the original owner/down-loader but when I go to the market place it says that I have to set a payment option or redeem a code. I lost the codes, and I don’t have any way of setting up a payment option. But can you explain your method step-by-step so I can try to do it on Friday?

Thats a wierd one. I think because I have a credit card link to my XBL account I get a button that says “Download Again”. Redeeming the code wont work anyway because the code has already been used and XBL should recognise that you have already paid for the maps. I cant suggest any further than that because thats all i see. If i were you I would contact XBL support and see what they recommend. You would think they would have some record of what purchases you have made and what codes you have redeemed. They may get you to clear your Cache and try it all again.

Hey I just found out that it wasn’t MY profile that the maps were downloaded from. I found out that it was my brother’s profile that he deleted, and it turns out that he forgot the profile’s code. So I guess I have to go ahead and buy two maps packs…yay.
