Having trouble with Co-Op in SP and MP

I’ve been having issues lately (hell, since launch) trying to do any kind of Multiplayer with a party. Three of us can go in, play a game, then there’s a more than likely chance that two of us can talk, the third can’t talk but can sometimes hear. This whole debacle always starts after a game is completed. We can try to circumvent this whole thing by hopping into an Xbox Live party. Good luck, though, because half the time at least one of the three has an ‘x’ next to their name, indicating that their mic just will not work.

These last couple days I have been trying to do single player co-op with a friend online. Same problems. We can’t hear each other. Xbox Live party chat doesn’t work for us in MCC (we Minecraft regularly and have never once had a problem. I mean 0 out of 100 times). I try to replug in my mic thinking it is something silly, and then my controller will become unresponsive and there is no way to fix this thing but to reboot my console! I’m sure lots of you can imagine my frustrations (and have likely lived them out yourselves).

After all that, does anybody have any advice on how to deal with this? Does this affect everybody? Honestly, I am at a loss here. I am not a computer engineer, I couldn’t make a video game if humanity’s existence depended on it, but I am truly perplexed as to how voice chat technology on Xbox Live has been around for over 10 years and we can’t make this one work. I’d love to hear if people have figured out a fix or a cure. Thanks for your time.
