Having to Mod My Controller

Why? Well because every time I get into a firefight I end up going into zoom mode whenever it gets a little hairy and then the lag that happens seems to make it impossible to get OUT of zoom before I die.

Anyone else notice that… it ALWAYS seems to happen when I have the Scattershot but not others.

So I have disabled the right thumbstick click button and wired in a seperate switch to stop it happening.

cool story bro

Just don’t be surprised if you get banned.

So you post this here ._.

I posted it here because it ONLY HAPPENS WITH THE SCATTERSHOT and wanted to know if it happens with others. It might be my -Yoink!- thumb spasming but why only with the Scattershot (due to my Joint Hypermobility Syndrome).

And banned for moving a zoom button? It’s not like adding a -Yoink!- autofire. Plus there are many MLG approved controllers that let you modify your controller by moving parts around.

So go troll somewhere else.

Can he be banned for modding his controller to be broken?

OP, have you considered turning on Clutch Protection, in the Halo 4 controller options? It’s not 100% effective, but it helps, trust me.

Press Start

Settings & Files -> Controller ->

Scroll down to CLENCH PROTECTION, and ENABLE it.

Problem solved. There was ZERO need to mod your controller.

Modifying peripherals like this could get you banned. Could. I’m not saying that he will but it can happen. Changing your how your hardware works has gotten people in trouble before.

Maybe I wouldn’t have had to IF THERE WAS A MANUAL WITH THE GAME.

There is no way to detect a modded controller. They have been in use on Xbox Live for a long time.

Incorrect. The -Yoink!- can detect all modded hardware on Xbox Live. Especially when a player is firing at triple the speed of everyone else. Kind of a give away.

The fact is, if you modify hardware, don’t be shocked if you get banned.

Also incorrect… partially.

If the controller has buttons moved around it’s not cheating. If a controller uses autofire buttons IT IS cheating. Big difference there.

What about all the Scuf and MLG controllers out there. MLG legal even.

Now modding the game so you are invincible or have infinite ammo now THAT is bannable… like having a JTAG console.

FYI the EG in my tag stands for Ethical Gamer. Never cheated in multiplayer games in my LIFE.

Go to settings and use the Clench Protection. Will help out with squeezing too much.

Wow. That didn’t sound too good. lol

Look at all the -Yoinks!- I give!

OMG ALL modded hardware can be detected by them? Oh god I am so screwed man

one of my shoulder buttons is broken, when I press it it does not work and nothing happens in teh game! crap crap crap, since you are saying this guy is getting banned for a broken joystick click button, I’m screwed too for having a broken shoulder button!

you’re smart

Well after reconnecting the thumbstick switch and enabling clench protection I found I was still getting the zoom happening at crazy times.

Turns out the microswitch for the right thumbstick is on its way out. Just have to nudge the thumbstick slightly and the -Yoink!- thing triggerst the zoom function so I am going back to the switch option. At least it works until I can get around to removing the dodgy microswitch and replacing it with a new one.
