Is anyone else suffering from this? My friend just got the game, and we were looking forward to playing together, but it the servers were down last night. We hoped to play it tommorow, but lo and behold, the servers are STILL down, 9 HOURS LATER. What in the -Yoinking!- -Yoink- is going on? Is anyone else having this problem?

I understand maintenance server is a given (though I don’t remember Reach having this much of an issue with it) but it’s been 9 HOURS, maybe more. What are they doing to the servers that takes 9 freaking hours?

I Made 2 regarding this with lots of in depth stuff of ways I tried to fix it.
Mine started working again after 36 Hours. Then after 3 Games of SpOps and 1 War Game it went back to the " Cannot connect to Halo 4 Servers "
This is just apalling. I’ve never seen server issues this bad on such a big game. Even Brink worked better than this, because at least I could -Yoinking!- play with my friends. As much as I like the game, 343, you seriously -Yoinked!- up on this front.

Just got servers unavailable just under an hour ago, about to complete a challenge too… 
it’s weird because you can still get a match, but there’s only like 500 people on, well, for me at least.
Makes me think if these server problems would have been less severe if they had done network stress testing with an open beta. or something like that
Bit frustrated by this myself. Just spent a few hours replaying 4 levels on Legendary ‘again’ due to not being signed into live the first go around; only to find that it was not recognized in accommodations… again. I can only play through this game so many times on legendary before I get sick of it.
*Edit to above- I was signed into live and received no notification of any connection issues.
I suspect that this is due to complications with the Waypoint servers?

When it’s all fixed try doing it in co-op if you’re not already doing so, it’ll still count towards it and it’ll be much easier, especially with a full party. I can even help.
Still not working… and no statement from 343. If this were Bungie, we would have been issued an apology an explanation. But 343 just lets us stew.

So, now my friend’s servers are working fine, yet I’m left in the dust. This is undoubtedly the worst server issues I’ve ever seen, as someone who has been playing online games for 12 years, and 343 has said nothing about it, just hoping to sweep it under the rug and ignore those who are unable to play the game they paid £50 for. I am entitled to a working product under my country’s laws, and if this issue persists, 343 could have serious problems on their hands. This entire incident has completely robbed me of my faith in 343. I don’t think you’re reading (because what kind of a developer reads fan feedback, eh), but if you are, SCREW. YOU.
I can’t even access Spartan Ops, war games is not tracking my stats correctly and is putting me in crappy backup serves that don’t work properly . Not chuffed. Already completed the game on legendary so I’m sitting here with nothing to do.
17 hours now, 343. The utter incompetence on display is nothing short of ridiculous.
Its a real shame I can’t pay Spartan Ops offline, I only have the weekend to play this episode and then back to work - looks like I’ve missed out thanks 343…
