Having huge vehicle battles in campaign

One of the most disappointing things about the halo Reach campaign to me was after seeing the opening cinematic of the level,“tip of the spear” realized that i could not participate in the huge battle that was taking place between all of those covenant and UNSC vehicles, so it would be really awesome if they could have battles with like a fifty or more vehicles in halo xbox one’s campaign mode.

The AI numbers can be achieved in the trilogy.

What went wrong with Reach was an excess prioritization on graphics (and the increase of vehicle usage resulting in more rendering). This still lingers in Halo 4, where the AI deload at an alarming rate, likewise vehicles.

Maybe it’s just me, but I honestly wouldn’t mind at all if the graphics took a hit for the next game in order to support massive AI battles in the campaign. Gameplay is more important than graphics.

I agree. Having a few Mammoths against Scarabs/whatever the fudge the Forerunners would use would be boatloads of fun.

Halo 4’s graphics are phenomenal. I wouldn’t mind just sticking with this level.

I would be fine with a hit to the graphics if it got us huge AI battles.

A game mode similar to something what happened in the covenant in halo 3. You fly a falcon or hornet and try to get on the scarab. It’s like 6vs6 and one team defends the scarab for a certain amount of time other team tries to destroy it. If the team that dies on the scarab, elites or brutes they have like a 15 sec spawn time and spawn with good weapons like fuel rod. Say its a tie and you split then you face off all on the scarab in one life.

I like running through a huge destroyed city with explosions and lots of death, hopefully even some wounded marines with blood on them like Halo 3, one of my favorite features.

I love those huge battles and intense explosions etc etc

So that’s what happened to the “40 AI in an encounter” promise in Reach? Bungie, you disappoint me with Reach yet again!

I think the standard Halo vehicles would have to be rebalanced from the wheel physics up to have massive tank style battles. Also there would have to be many additional vehicles added which hopefully each one would be unique and not just another bunch of warthogs with a new types of turrets.

One thing that annoys me about the halo 4 campaign is that they had bigger battles in halo 3, so in halo 5 they should focus less on the graphics and more on the gameplay and intelligent AI.

I want huge vehicle battles in campaign and multiplayer

I’m pretty sure they actually achieved that number. But it was probably so laggy (instances of noticeable lag can be observed at the second Tyrant on TotS and at Boneyard on PoA), they had to restrict them to Falcon on-rails sections (on TotS and Exodus), where the enemies would be distant and thus not have to be fully rendered.

Yes and no. They gotta find that balance. People always talk and/or brag on graphics, and with Halo 4 winning that last on the last round, they have a small reputation to uphold.

I’m sure 5 will be amazing all together though, the team is bigger than Bungie.

Higher resolution textures, better lighting, and that Halo 3 water would be nice :stuck_out_tongue:

With the next gen consoles, your graphics won’t have to take a hit for more AI’s on the battlefield.

But who cares, honestly? Reviewers at IGN?

People give WAY too much weight to graphics. Half the time I think that the masses often equate graphics to quality; if the game looks gorgeous, it must be a great game! It’s almost sickening, especially when you consider that all this excessive prioritization on how the game LOOKS is taking away from how the game could PLAY.

I’m going to go ahead and just state right now that I would rather have Halo 3 graphics and have huge battles with over a hundred AI on screen than “next gen graphics” with 20 AI on screen.

That’s obviously never going to happen, but that’s just how I feel about it.

(And yea, the team is bigger, but that doesn’t mean better, or more experienced. Considering how Halo 4 turned out, I’m not exactly holding my breath for amazing things to happen just from adding a few more guys.)

> I want huge vehicle battles in campaign and multiplayer

Yeah it would be cool to have bigger multiplayer vehicle fights, but what would be really awesome is to have huge firefight map where you could fight against lots of wraiths, ghosts, banshees, and maybe even a couple of scarabs all at once with some marines in warthogs to help you at the start of the mission.

I would assume that huge battles and awesome graphics can BOTH be achieved on a next-gen console.

Yes.

Yep.

Yeah!

OH GOD YES!!!
