Haven (Wrap-around) Forge Remakes?

Now that we have sufficient footage of people playing on Haven, (formerly known as Wrap-around) has anyone made or seen an accurate remake of this map yet? I really want to see how this map flows in Reach.

there was a vid posted some where here on waypoint some one made wraparound on reach. just search the file share in reach you will be sure to find it.

There someone who made a remake of it awhile back but all he got right was the top mid iv been at e3 the past 3 days I’m here in line for halo 4 again iv played it a lot now and I know the map layout really well and what weapons are on map

Im actually working on one right now iv been since day 1 of e3 when I got back. Using what I remember and the footage that’s out it will be as accurate as possible. I’m also going to make some settings to go with it. To try to capture the feel of what I got to play it should be lots of fun.

The maps is coming a long well and should be done soon I can’t post pics but I’ll make a post and mabey a YouTube video to go with it on the next week or weekend

That is awesome! Post the map here or P.M. me or something when you finish it because I really want to see that map in action for myself!

I would try to forge it myself from the footage, but my forge skills are pretty lacking and it would probably have terrible frame-rate issues.

Hi there.

I’m currently finishing up a forge of Haven.
Wasted the entire budget.
Came out pretty well.

I still need help placing all the spawns so if anyones available right now
message Quantum Tobias and ill add you to the forge.

I’ve made a 100% accurate sketch of the map, and will start forging it, a “premake” of sorts, tomorrow.

I’m having a bit of a problem filling in the empty spaces around the map where the real haven has buildings and such as forge doesnt allow quite enough materials.
How are you guys getting around this problem?

You should try replacing some objects with lower budget ones without changing the structure.

I’ve already got most of the “which pieces go where” figured out before building, and it only comes out to about $4000 of Forge Budget. To anybody building a version of Haven, let’s get a little competition going.

I challenge Reach’s forging community to build Halo 4’s map “Haven” in Reach, making it as accurate to the original and as aesthetically striking as possible, while still maintaining good framerate performance in up to 4 player splitscreen. The winner’s map should (I can’t say the winner WILL, because I have no affiliation with 343) be added to Reach’s matchmaking (Please, 343? It would be awesome)

Anybody in?

I like the idea of a competition. But I find it highly unlikely that 343 would do such thing.

Use large pieces like Coliseum Windows and Walls (add detail to them with other pieces, but don’t go overboard), don’t use ANY pieces from the block section as flat flooring (blocks don’t line up right with location snaps, making for bumpy movement, and they generally look ugly as hell). Stay away from un-needed pieces, and un-necessary detail (column pieces are EXACTLY what I mean by this), and don’t use a lot of glass (besides Colly Windows) as it lowers frame rate.

And finally (I can not stress this enough) It won’t look exactly like the original, and trying to make it so is a waste of budget and time. Giving your map a clean look (free of excessive detail, but with detailed areas that draw a player around the map) is crucial to both framerate, and a map’s aesthetic.

Well then we should just have a forging competition for its own sake. It would be pretty fun.

Well I’ve lost already.
I suck at aesthetics in this forge.
My map simply plays like Haven.

Done!

It’s not too bad but the first recreation is up!

I’ll be trying to start a trial game NOW, so anyone who wants to join message Quantum Tobias
Otherwise, go ahead and download “Halo 4: Haven” and “Infinity Slayer”
