One time I was in the gunner seat of a warthog on Outcast and the guy stopped at the Mantis and kept honking. I got in the Mantis and he drove off.
I’m the same way! Yes it counts.

I have,for example, the Mantis a few times and the Gauss Hog. I’ve done this when it becomes obvious that the so called team mate(s) want to destroy it so I can’t have it…so, I’ll get out and let them have it as it is better that we have it then not at all.
No one has given me one though…but, the closest was some dude on Exile jumping out of the Banshee (my team) because it was on fire and flaming bad. I was running past and thought, what the hey, let’s see if I can get it off the ground even…I went on to get a killing frenzy LOL
Flip side of the coin, I pretty much always give up the tanks, Banshee or Mantis for my team mates. I’ve almost never used them, didn’t in Reach and don’t in Halo 4, not my thing as I’m a foot soldier.

Welcome to the club, love gears, but not a fan of Judgment. And yeah the Gears community isn’t that bad at all.
I never give players vehicles, or even weapons like I use to in other games.
In Halo 3 or Reach I’ve always been like “Hey who wants this sniper”, now I just use whatever I can get.
I sometimes give someone a vehicle if I feel like he could do a better job. However, in a Mantis…that’s all mine.
I always give my teammates vehicles, especially when they’re on fire!
I do have one really weird story.
So I was playing H4, on Daybreak, and I already had a Running Riot in my Banshee. No one could touch my Banshee, I ruled the map with an iron fist.
Then. . . Black screen. It took a minute for the game to load back up, and when it did. . .
I had respawned, my Banshee was gone, and my spree had been reset. Needless to say, I was unhappy about this.
Then, only moments after, I see on my motion tracker that a Banshee was flying over my head, and it was occupied by a teammate. And just as it flew over my head, the pilot got out, and just. . . Left it.
It was as if he was giving me the Banshee, like he knew that it had belonged to me. Maybe he did it on purpose, or maybe it was some crazy coincidence.
Regardless, I proceeded to wreck the other team with my newly acquired Banshee.

Just yeasterday when i was playing on the new Castle map(cant remember the name, but it was the sand themed), i was driving with the Hog and had a team mate take the gun. He had some good kills with it, and when we drove near the Mantis spawn, i saw it spawn and drove back to it and honked few times that the gunner would notice the Mantis. Then he got off the Hog and went to drive to Mantis.

Well back in Halo 3 and Reach a few nice players gave me Warthog & Banshee. Those players were good people. but I dont play game modes in Halo 4 which includes vechiles. I prefer to stay at SWAT, Flood & Griffball. normal slayers are kinda boring cause ordance drops.
I’ve done it a fair amount, from mantis to snipers.

I believe its happened to me before. Someone actually gave me a beam rifle last night.
It’s happened to me before. I tend to do it a lot myself (I prefer to work through the weapons commendations). It’s always kind of surreal to have two guys standing next to a vehicle, each urging the other to take it, both without mics. 
Hm, I play with my friends only in Team playlists. And most of the time they let me drive the Mantis cauz no one else actually want it. I’m prety good with it though.
