Have You Cancelled Your H5 Pre-order?

THIS IS NOT A HATEFUL/BASHFUL POST.

I am honestly curious of why you have cancelled, or chose to not pre-order the game. I pre-ordered sometime back in February I believe, and cancelled it around the time when 343 announced no split-screen, no armor customization, Microtransactions, etc. You get the idea. The level of disappointment and disgust that 343 has bestowed upon me will never be forgotten. Anyway, I want a number to help me see how many people have, so please share your reasons for not getting the game.

IF YOU HAVE CANCELLED, OR ARE NOT GETTING H5, PLEASE LIKE THIS POST.

P.S. I’m sure H5 will be a decent game, but I simply cannot stand and support what 343 and -Yoink!- are doing to the franchise.

Don’t let the door hit you on the way out. If you are so sure your decision was the correct one why are you on here seeking validation?

Nope, because it will still be the best FPS for the Xbox despite the changes. I’d rather not feel forced to play COD or Destiny, no thanks. I don’t want to get into the “Halo turned into COD” debate, because it still doesn’t play the same despite the mechanics added.

TL;DR - It’s either Halo or COD/Destiny. I choose Halo.

OMG, seriously no one cares if you cancelled your game. Shouldn’t you be posting positive things about halo on the HALO forums. Why post that you cancelling when no one will care. You wont be missed sir and im not even trying to be mean in the slightest. This game looks so awesome and you will be missing out.

343i has been supporting halo 5 more than h4 and they have been doing a great job. Sorry a few things ruin a WHOLE game for you but i guess thats you. Have fun hearing how good h5 will be lol.

Because the ONLY way that we will ever get a decent Halo game ever again, that includes split-screen, armor customization, and no cash-grab req cards, will be if 343 gets a message that no-one will stand for this. I’m on these forums every now and again, hoping, hoping, hoping, that there will be reviving, revitalizing news that will bring my interest back into H5, but there never is. There is actually more bad news that has just been released: No Campaign matchmaking system. YAY…

I don’t want to see Halo die. But 343 has pretty much killed it for me.

Your first sentence claims you aren’t creating a “hateful/bashful” post…and then proceed to claim that 343 is acting “disgustingly”, all the while using evidence that is either weak, perfectly explainable, or simply incorrect.
From what I understand, there are more armor variants in Halo 5 than any previous game in the series. You can customize your armor, helmet, weapon design (series first), assassinations (series first), and cinematic pose (series first). I may be forgetting something. They designed full armor sets for the torso because they thought they were more elegant being able to blend different areas of torso armor together. But hey, if that is “disgusting” than nothing I can say will dissuade you.
The split screen being cut is logical. It’s an enormous resource hog and would have gutted their ability to build larger, truly next-gen environments and encounters. Bungie was talking about how much of a constraint split-screen was all the way at Halo 3. I know a lot of people played it, but you have to make compromises in life. Coop in Halo 4 ran very slowly and was frankly not very enjoyable.
The Microtransactions are the least invasive implementation I’ve ever seen. Everything can be unlocked through playing the game, and to use powerful cards your team has to have built up enough energy anyway. We’re getting 15+ multiplayer maps post launch for free, plus the largest map selection at launch of any Halo game in history.

Going to the official forum for fans of a game, and creating a thread for no other purpose than to celebrate with other people who aren’t getting that game, is juvenile. Stating arbitrary criteria which you feel make a “good” Halo game, and trying to pass them off as objective facts is ludicrous.

You do realise the req cards are only used in warzone, plus free dlc. Matching campaign is such a bad idea to begin with. Honestly the armor customization big deal its more like the level of halo 3 customization. About the only legit downer is lack ofsplitscreen. Honestly OP nobody cares you cancelled your preorder. This is very non constructive post and has been reported as such.

No, I never preorder games… I think it’s a silly practice, because I can’t recall the last time a AAA title had shortages at launch…

but it I will be buying it day one… No split-screen sucks, but everything else you complained about either doesn’t bother me, or looks to be implemented in a way that helps the franchise instead of harming it…

especially the Req cards… They gameplay ones are restricted to Warzone, well balanced, fund free maps, and fund Halo tournaments… What is there to complain about?..

Although I think the OP is being kind of harsh, I think people responding are being just as harsh. This post obviously isn’t for you; ignore it. Don’t just push people away saying they won’t be missed. Don’t you want as many people as possible to be on Halo? It would give it more replay value because of larger populations. If you’re so sure Halo 5’s gonna be a good game, encourage people to get it, rather than push them away.

I personally am contemplating canceling my pre-order and waiting for reviews, because I’m a little skeptical about the whole direction, and just the past fails that have happened. The same hype came around Halo 4, and Halo 4 had even more pre-orders by this time around. And it was a huge fail. So there’s reason to be skeptical, not just mindless “Argh, they added sprint, they’re ruining halo, etc.”
But I’m also extremely curious that I really want to have it day 1. I may end up canceling it soon, depending on the way I feel in a few weeks about it.

I have not preordered.

Not because I don’t plan on getting the game, I absolutely am. But the closer to launch it gets, more retailer deals will emerge. Not to mention I’m generating $10 a week in my MS wallet through bing promos, so the longer I hold out, the more free money I’ll have to buy a digital copy, should I choose to go that route. I’m almost to a point where I’ll be getting digital deluxe for free. But I might use that towards fallout 4 instead and buy H5 physical.

Decent Halo game is in your opinion along with many others, that’s subjective.

Split-screen the only point you actually have here which then you should of just added to the split-screen thread

Armor customization is actually happening via the Req system for cosmetics and it includes assassinations now along with hundreds of different types of armor/weapon skins. So just not your specific preferred armor customization right?

No cash-grab req cards…what does that mean? Like…is there no other way to earn Req cards besides money?! I thought there was a Req system news thread from Josh that explained how the whole system worked. Guess people are still confused.

No Campaign matchmaking system you mean the same system in Reach that was full of trolls and just wasted 99% of your time anyways? Let alone the queue times for it to find people. Ya heard it was so successful.

Don’t let the door hit ya on the way out- love the Doomsayers of every game/genre. World of Warcraft has had the same thing said about it for probably a decade now lol.

yes but unlike halo warcraft’s population is on a rapid decline, if wow subs were blizzards blood id say we should just call time and pass it to the coroner but maybe legion will stop the bleed and let the transfusion stick. as for halo every title sells well the question being will players keep playing, i think they will because of all the casual favouring stuff, such as req and warzone, if when forge is detailed it blows the previous forge away like 343 claim it will there’s another thing to keep casual fans in. but arena looks tightly woven and built for murder and i feel the competitive fans will be sticking around for a long while as well because of it. but the op won’t be around and i couldn’t care less

yup, the Blizzard stuff is off-topic yet Activision-Blizzard revenues are way up greater then they have ever been in the past, they don’t need WoW anymore to sustain their revenue or increase because of HotS and Hearthstone. That doesn’t include Overwatch their new weird FPS…something coming out probably next year.

but overall yup.

Preordered digitally the very day it became available. Have no intention on cancelling. I am a single player user. No split screen is actually a good call in my book (sorry…I know it was a beloved feature and if there was a way to implement it without impacting the scope of the game I would 100% support it). I do not care about any of the MP features and campaign looks amazing especially the fact 343 is looking at Spartans as supersoldiers now.

So yeah…not cancelling my preorder at all.

I didn’t cancell my preorder but I did down grade from the limited collectors to just the collectors edition. That flimsy looking plastic statue isn’t worth $150 IMO.

Well see ya later, I pre ordered the day the live action trailers aired, and I have no regrets.

Such a dumb non constructive post. Makes me mad that posts like this are even allowed.
So your either trolling or really dumb to cancel a preorder based on 1 feature.

Armor customization is there. Yes its not as in-depth at reach but its there. You can customize helmet, visor, body. You can also customize the spartan stances, assassination and more.

Req packs are not forced micro transactions. You can pay for them but they actually go towards prize pools for halo tournaments which is awesome.

OMG no campaign… matchmaking will SUCK!! <----- haha yeah right man. Who cares? You can still play with your friends.

I would only pre order anything not just a video game, that has a VERY limited run. Admittingly I did when I was younger, as I didn’t know any better, always fell for the marketing BS, but as I got order I realized there is no point. They aren’t going to run out of LEC or LE of halo 5 anytime soon trust me… and most certainly not the standard edition. I’ve gone to 3 midnight Halo launches with friends where none of them pre-order and they all got whatever edition they wanted. Also I’ve had a situation where my pre-order got lost in the system and they didn’t honor my $10 pre-order receipt. That was at Best Buy btw. That was the last straw for me, so never again. I don’t understand people willingness to want to give away there money so easily… Once again, if something really has a LIMITED run, then ok, but other wise, zero point. People say things like I don’t want to worry about having money later to buy the game and such…honesty, how bad are you can managing money? or do you really have that little of will power to not spend it on something else… always shocks me.

Already pre-ordered. See you on Oct 27th with my Locke Armour and weapon skins!

I’m strongly considering it. If forge/campaign is online only, that would be the straw to break my back. I’ll still buy the game because it looks fun, but I’ll buy it second hand out of spite.
