Have you accepted Master Chief as your...

…Kick -Yoink- overlord and savior from the Halo rings?

Hey, all.
Jokes aside, as you may or may not have gathered from the title, (And introductory sentence,) this thread is going to be about, “Spreading the word of Halo.”

I know that sounds a bit weird, but it’s the only way I can think of saying it at this very moment. What I mean is introducing your colleagues to Halo, or at least sitting down with them to revisit it.
For example, I have a friend who owns Halo 3: ODST.
He pretty much only plays Call of Duty.
So, about a month ago, I showed him the E3 2012 Halo 4 gameplay, and started talking to him about it. He was actually getting kind of interested.
So, he and I sat down, and played a couple of matches on Halo 3.
Let’s just say… He wasn’t the best player in the world.
As we played, I showed him tips and tricks, and, soon enough, he improved. A lot.
Since, he has pre-ordered Halo 4, and is going to come to the midnight launch with me.
(He’s even considered upgrading to the limited edition.)

So, I think that what I was somehow able to do was pretty cool.
Never had I thought was it possible to be able to play, enjoy, and even develop player skill with someone who had instead bought and played the yearly edition of CoD.
Of course, he still plays CoD, as that’s pretty much what he normally did. But, I introduced the world of Halo to him. I even played entire campaigns with him, that he never really cared to start or finish.

So, have you guys done anything of this sort, such as introducing someone new to Halo?
Maybe you’ve recently just gotten into Halo?

I want to know just because it was a very curious thought that popped up in my head.
With Halo 4 on the horizon, I’ve been seeing this sort of thing happen more often.
So… Yeah. Just leave your responses. I look forward to reading them.

We don’t need to preach halo 4 for the love of god.

We play our game, others play their game.

I’m not saying we need to.
Personally, I see nothing wrong with saying “Hey, you should check this game out.”
I didn’t force it onto him, and I’ll never force it onto anyone.
I was only curious if anyone else had a similar experience.

Can’t really think of anyone I could tell. I already have a few friends that play Halo.

What’s your problem? There is nothing wrong with “introducing” a game to someone.

On-topic I think this is a great idea hahah I myself have been doing this for a while as a big time Halo fan and sometimes it’s not as easy as it looks but still the more the merrier and why not Halo 4 & Halo in general is a great series of games from all my experience and what I have seen in the way of Halo 4 footage.

> Can’t really think of anyone I could tell. I already have a few friends that play Halo.

Your Grandma… Hahahah well let me think… friends acquaintances perhaps or just total randoms. Generally I don’t persuade I just try to show it off to everyone of how great it is.

Well the first thing I ask people is what games they like. If Halo is not on their list they have failed the test, and therefore are not worthy of my companionship. If they say they hate Halo and love CoD I sacrifice their souls in the name of the Hierarchs and for the Great Journey.

That sounds… Extreme.

Wouldn’t want to make you angry.

I’ve been enlightening people online about Halo since 2010 but I haven’t been going around IRL preaching it.

But if I did, many would hear me say:

“You’re not worthy for instruction in the immobile arts.”

I’ve done a lot of tedious things that no one else would be willing to endure. Spending 6 hours collecting AI: getting in and out of vehicles, climbing up towers of Hornets, walking great distances, pushing AI up hills, staying in place for a couple of minutes. It’s not worth it. It’s NOT worth it!!

All my friends play halo or hate halo so…

I only have 1 person on my FL who doesn’t like Halo… the rest love it. Soooo I’m lucky I guess lol.
