In halo wars we see red team take on a small battalion of elites fair enough they are using melee weapons but still i can’t recall a moment where chief has had to fight more than about 5 elites. Also red team are doing flips and all sorts and seem really agile and chief looks similar to them but instead he moves like big heavy Jorge it just doesn’t seem like the games have made the Spartan II’s seem that remarkable.
Also Chief has never had to take on a large enemy force.
Halo CE: quite a big Covenant fleet but they are searching all the way around Halo and the UNSC are scattered also the covenant have the flood to deal with.
Halo 2: Regret only has the troops on his ship, High Charity gets overrun by the fllod.
Halo 3: The covenant is split and truth is only left with a limited number of troops.
Halo 4: The storm covenant, a smaller scale version of the covenant as far as i know.
So it seems that we have never played as Chief against a full blown covenent attack force and if we did would the games be too hard, yet we do play as noble 6 against a full covent armada.
What are your opinions on this because from reading some of the novels and from certain cutscenes the spartans are made out to be so good yet in my opinion this is never expressed through gameplay, story or cutscenes throughout the original halo games although i know some people will argue that chief did take out the covenant nearly single handedly.
It’s like say that JB can match Chuck Norris no one will match Master Chief he is not only a Spartan he is a Suvivor of all the Covy acts and he has the original genetic code(all the human power that the forerunners had taken from us) back, so by far he have much power left
I would’ve shown you a GIF of the bit from Forward Unto Dawn where he takes out the Mgalekgolo, but I couldn’t find it, sorry. Or perhaps when he jumps onto the Lich to get closer to the Didact?

I haven’t seen Forward Unto Dawn. Tried, but apparently it’s no longer free. So meh.
Did you see him jump on the Lich? Wasn’t really fluid movement. Or badass. I can jump off a ledge too. Though I don’t have a knife sharp enough to stab into a ship’s hull.
I still don’t think we have seen Chief at his best he has never fought against a large group of high ranking enemies apart from probably the mission the covenant in halo 3 which is by far the best campaign mission IMO, and yes we have seen chief doing some agile movements in some of the halo 4 cutscenes but not really that much and in halo forward unto dawn but tbf i didnt really like FUD that much it was ok but there wasn’t enough combat for me. Chief just doesn’t seem as good as he is meant to be and he seems overated and even i’m saying that and i usually say that Chief is the best.
Also we have never seen a good use of stealth i mean i know chief is massive and heavy but in the books the spartans go on a few stealth ops i just think that it would be good if this was somehow implemented.
I’d just like to see chief or other spartans taking on a large high ranking enemy force, such as lot of elites or elites and high ranking grunts and jackals.
Also, if anyone still has any doubts about whether Chief is an effective or fluid fighter, direct them to watch The Package.
I do agree that the games have a sore lack of Master Chief utilizing his full superhuman abilities. We should have more cutscenes where Master Chief, instead of walking around and talking, does something that actually fits how badass the expanded universe makes Spartans out to be.
The Chief isn’t that different. He is pretty similar to other Spartans we have never seen fighting. The only thing which makes him so special is that he loves the risky way and on the top of that he succeeds every single time because of LUCK.
The problem is that John seems invulnerable so you can’t send him against a big junk of Covy. He would get destroyed like any other Spartan. I mean if he gets focused what can he do? Escape? How? Sure it depends on the scenery but actually he can die.

Have you never played Halo 2. The 12th mission “Gravemind” has to be the hardest mission of all time IMO. You’re in High Charity, The location of the council, the prophets and more high ranking officials. Not 1 time have I ever seen more than 3 elite commanders (White) at the same time (around the very end with a epic battle consisting of 2 hunters, 3 Elite Commanders, multiple Drones and multiple Brutes). Don’t forget that Chief is running through a civil war with the covenant at that time and it’s guaranteed that no other spartan could do that. He even escaped the massive flood outbreak later on.
Also don’t forget mission 9 or 10 (Don’t remember) “Regret”. Elite Honor Guards are high ranking elites and he took on several of them.
Speaking about this, Halo 2 had the best campaign. I’m literally hooking up my old xbox just to play it.
