Have people already pre-loaded the full game?

I keep seeing people comment saying that they have pre-loaded the full 46.2GB. Or are they just assuming they have, because the file size has changed but it technically has not downloaded that much, just the small placeholder download.

You’re right, it’s a place holder. It’s not installed on anyone’s console yet. It’s just displaying the total size that it will be. If you wanna see for yourself, uninstall it and reinstall it and watch how fast it goes. I also have the new Xbox UI, which keeps the game in the Queue at all times now and it still says “46.2GB” … it’s just waiting until the 20th, I believe, and then it should install.

More than likely they will leave out an update right at midnight, where it actually allows you to connect/access the game.

Yeah this is confusing. I have preordered the game and its a small size. So did people uninstall and then got the full size or close to it?

nope.

Idk, mine says 46.2GB and does not have an active queue for future download. (via file management, asks if I’d like to uninstall 46.2GB - THAT, is no placeholder)
I suspend my system rather than turn it off completely now so it’s entirely possible it already downloaded without my knowledge.

jfyi 1.01 patch does not unlock the game for you.
It is currently on an internal clock timer.

Everyone’s says the same. It says I have downloaded 46.2GB. Uninstall then reinstall and it only installs about 100mb, but then says 46.2GB has download.
No one has downloaded the full 46.2GB.

But that’s not how hard drives work… why say your filesize is bigger than it actually is?

No one has downloaded the game.

Apparently it is in this case. Trust me. It’ll only show up in the queue if you have the new Xbox UI (preview program) and it’ll also show up among your games. In your case, it’ll only show up among your games saying 46.2gb, and confusing you.

You can do the math. Of the 362gb you get for game storage (much of your 500gb is for system use), how much is being used on that hard drive? Add up the sizes of the games on there and see if it matches with the percentage used.

Or go by what my console is telling me:

  1. Halo 5 is the only game on my internal hard drive (I can’t move it until it launches).

  2. It says 344.9gb free, meaning roughly 18gb is being used, most of which are my apps.

  3. It says only 5.4% is being used of the total hard drive, which again, is roughly 18gb

So there is no way Halo 5 is installed on my console even though it says “46.2gb”.

From the Microsoft Store: “XBOX ONE GAME TO RELEASE ON OCTOBER 27, 2015. YOU MAY DOWNLOAD THE GAME FROM XBOX LIVE BEFORE THEN, BUT IT WILL NOT BE PLAYABLE UNTIL THE RELEASE DATE.”

This was my understanding, you can download the game whenever you want, but not play it until release day.

hard to say. I “downloaded” it a couple of days ago to my xbox for xbox marketplace and it was going by way to fast for it to be 46.2 GB

Ok, I believe you. :stuck_out_tongue:

Yes, the digital Standard and Deluxe is already out
