Hi there
I started playing MCC (or trying to) a few weeks ago. However since i started, i have not been able to gain access to one single match, i get stuck the in player search lobby, and have never gotten past it once. I am a patient man, but this is really starting to try my said patience. Yes everything is updated, yes my internet is fine, and of course i am connected to XB live.
Please help, for the love of the great journey.
Quit your build of Halo MCC, boot it back up then try to search. If you get stuck in a que for more than 3minutes back out and try re searching. Tell me how this helps. Also if your searching for a match in BTB Good luck have fun. Because your on your own there. lol
Edit: Make sure you do this everytime you boot up your xbox, if MCC is the only game you play like me. When you shut off your xbox, unless you completly power it down. It’s not actually closing MCC. Which I believe breaks the game. It’s kinda like leaving your computer on all day and keeping a web tab open. I don’t know the technical reason for it but it basicly stops grabbing data for the site your on. And when you go to play on that web page again it lags for abit while it has to request packets again. If it sounds stupid, it’s because I don’t know how to explain it. But doing the highlighted DOES help alot.
You need to check your NAT type. If it isn’t showing OPEN then thats likely your issue. If thats the case then do the following:
If you have the Instant on feature enabled then it messes with the UPnP on your router and can cause a strict NAT. With the difficulty this game has with matchmaking you might as well never try to search. Just disable the Instant-On feature in power settings for the console and then hard reset the router/modem (or both depending on your setup) and then hard reset the console by pressing and holding the power button until it shuts off (like 7-8 seconds usually, but you have to hold it). After that you should be able to get an Open NAT. If not you may have to log into the router and assign a static IP address, disable UPnP, reboot router, re-enable UPnP, hard reset xbox. This will update the UPnP tables for the specific IP address and ports used by your console and by making the address static it will never change and will allow you to keep an Open NAT without issue. I work in the IT industry and this is by far the easiest method to obtain and maintain an Open NAT one the Xbox One.
If the NAT is your issue and you follow these steps in order then it should solve the problem. You may have to look up the log in for your router though (usually its on the back or bottom of the router)
Even if that isn’t part of the issue you causing you to not find matches I would HIGHLY suggest that you and anyone else disable the Instant-On feature as it can cause issues with online experiences.
Thanks for the help. Looks like it’s probably my nat, seems as if it’s gonna take me some time to fix it around.
