Have halo 4 firefight more like Halo ODSTs Firefight then Reach . Halo ODSTs Firefight really felt like you where struggling and fighting to survive but Halo Reach seemed like just blow everthing away . Have firefight more tactical like ODST Then blow everything away like Reach .
Really no one has a opinion ?

Ok so, Yes. I agree. There has been so many threads about this and in general I see that a large majority of the Halo population prefers ODST’s firelight over Reach’s.
For me, Reach’s firefight wasn’t actually that bad. There were just a few details I didn’t like.
- Arcade Playlists
- Unlimited Ammo crates
- Spawn hogging
Overall, these factors just made the experience generally too easy. I know people will say, “Well go into Private Firefight and alter the details”. Don’t worry, I do, but I shouldn’t have to do that, I also don’t have many friends on Reach willing to join me in a private firefight match.
I know Halo 4 will add things to Firefight, if it was my option I would’ve wanted to see this before Matchmaking but that’s just my preference. (I like AI based modes) Moving on, I hope Halo 4 brings back that survival aspect that ODST had, whilst bring the diverse possibilities Reach had, e.g weapon choices and vehicles. However, my number 1 request is friendly AI. I know AI are just, AI, but after playing over and over and over the same maps, it gets incredibly boring. AI are just something in the sandbox that give it that extra enjoyment, entertainment and even objective.
Can’t wait to see what 343i has in store for us.
That OP, or just make it much more harder to give it that survival feel.
Keep note, there’s going to be a new enemy so that could change everything about FF.
Meh, to me there are a few models I would use for a co-op wave mode in Halo 4 before looking to ODST. Namely Halo 3’s system of not having it at all, because despite how much time I put into Firefight I feel that what resources it uses can be put to work making the campaign more replayable (which FF is ultimately a cheap solution to.)
If, however, we had to have it I would look to Section 8 Prejudice instead. As it was firefight has always been terribly designed for what it is (wave based co-op) because the relationship between you and the covenant has been poorly defined. Are you attacking them? Are they attacking you? If so, what are you defending? What relationship do you have with that objective/location. All in all it results in an ambiguous style of gameplay that has you awkwardly assuming all roles at some point with very little to give the experience any sort of relatable and thus enjoyable structure to it.
What we need (getting to S8) is a wave based game mode that has you defending a territory. Generator defense sucked because the one attribute needed to complete the objective against you was what the covenant had in greatest abundance (persistence) but if you tie the objective to something that can’t be whittled away by and endless stream of plasma pistol fire you will have a much better experience. That or we can go with RB6’s terrorist hunt to take the opposite perspective, but regardless the point is for there to be some structure to the gametype so it can finally start to deliver.
ODST FF > Crap > Reach FF
No, but seriously Reach FF was just an arcade mode.
Reach Firefight isn’t that bad. Actually, it plays pretty much like the original. I’m talking about regular Firefight of course, not Arcade gametypes. The maps changed a bit, ODST was mostly about defending a position, when in Reach, it’s more about running around, and there isn’t much stuff to defend, unless you play Generator Defense which is a lot more fun and challenging than most people suspect.
What really changed is that Reach Firefight is focused on Spartans, when ODST Firefight focused on the Covenant. One is about killing tons of enemies, the other one is about facing the most lethal force in the galaxy. It’s all about the tone of it, it doesn’t feel like you’re facing an enemy, it just feels like you’re about to score thousands of points.
And that’s what ruined Firefight.
