Hauppauge HD PVR capturer device

Foreword

I ordered a Hauppauge HD PVR capturer device to record my Halo Wars and other games. It cost about 200 € (250 $) here in Finland. Delivery was quick and I installed it yesterday.

The package included all necessary cables to connect it from XBox to TV. Also USB cable was provided to connect the device to PC for recording.

Drivers were delivered on DVD. It includes easy to use recorder software. Software also provides some simple tools to convert videos to another format + editing.

bb2010 and FORGE IS DOWN also have the same capturer. They told me that installation was also pretty easy for them.

Games

I recorded a few games yesterday. One Halo Wars video takes about 700-800 MB (10-13 min). Since my pronounced English is even worse than written, I decided to add subtitles instead of my voice to my videos. Here they are:

sadstone (Anders) vs ayatos (Brute) on Blood Gulch
sadstone (Anders) vs RPGStylee (PoR) on Tundra

I noticed I made subtitles to last too short time on screen in the first video (YouTube default 5 seconds is not enough for long subtitles). In the second one I put 2 line subtitles to last full 10 seconds.

Also I converted the first video to worse quality on my computer before uploading it to youtube. That was unnecessary. The second video is better quality and uploaded as fast as the first one.

The games are not very good. I made a lot of mistakes, but my opponents did even more. Enjoy.

Afterword

Hauppauge HD PVR was a good buy. At least Amazon.co.uk and Amazon.com sells these products. It costs 150 £ / 190 $.

I should have continued with my normal build; your 3 hogs wouldn’t have really done crap to my base by the time my PoR would have come out. then I should have gone for fast citadel and then ghosts and hunters. but I panicked.

Yes, I know. My microing is not good enough to do harassment. Anyway, Wild Arms FX does the same but much better.

The idea is to force 2 x turret or 1 x turret + leader recall. While leader is bind to defense the base the hogs can collect the crates all over the map. This should give UNSC a huge economy lead.

I have seen how easily Wild Arms FX did this to BigHugmonster on Release and Tundra. The truth is I have not managed to do that ever. Anyway, I keep doing that build until it works.

P.S. I will upload also my losses to youtube. If you want to play sometime when I am online, I am happy to take a rematch. I lose you about 66 % of the time. O.o

I’ve been considering ordering one of those myself. though i rekon I’d have to upgrade my computer beforehand as my current one is a 5 or 6 year year old laptop with only 90GB hardrive space, a 2.7GHZ single core processor (Likely pentium 3 or 4) and no dedicated GPU.)

It can’t even succesfully defrag itself anyore -.-

please don’t describe hell just because you’re in it. shudder

yeah, but you’ve been practising in 1v1 while I’ve just been playing relaxing 3v3 games. you’re much better than the last time we played; I might actually try hard in our next game.

The quality is great. Nice videos.

@RPG - Going hall on Tundra is pretty risky simply because how immobile hunters are. You want to attack around the time he’s getting his airpad up so you can deny it. Well-timed attacks is extra important for PoR since he’s so inferior to the other leaders.

Here is my first game against I MarcoStyle NL. It was Anders vs Anders on Chasms. The end shows how bad I really am.

Thanks. I have pretty fast internet connection so I can upload those HD videos straight away.

I know, guess I were just being lazy.

You will try-hard and you will like it!

PoR takes too much effort. maybe I should switch to brute…

> PoR takes too much effort. maybe I should switch to brute…

No… not the Brute! Try Cutter? O.o

think I’ll stick to the old cripple in his wheel chair for now before I move on to the other old none cripple that lives in a space ship.

Try Forge.

> Try Forge.

forge blows.

> forge blows.

You just broke my heart… </3

Here is the second game against I MarcoStyle NL. This time I do not only fail to manage my units. My strategy sucks also.

Game 2 video

Just caught sG Carnag3 and King Of Reason1 boosting in 1v1. Itz xShockwavex also helped boost.

Why do people have to ruin the leaderboards?

I do not like boosting at all. It is better to be legit mediocre than boosted “top” player. I believe there is only one legit TS 50 player in the leaderboard lately. Still there is better players out there whose TS is lower than that.
