I like it. When you have AR and sidekick, people just spray with the AR. BR is less of a spray fest
I suggest for Season 3 they have a Team Slayer with Br starts and a Team Slayer with Ar starts. Then in Season 4 they delete the playlist with the lowest population.
Cant agree with your more. Team spayer br starts is wicked sweaty and i dont like being forced to play it either

That was when we had match voting or MMC’s match composer. It’s annoying wanting BR slayer and getting AR slayer and vice versa.
Also I don’t like how you only spawn with a BR and no Sidekick. This is isn’t ranked. Give me my sidearm lol

The problem is, half the community wanted BR starts, others (like me) don’t want them at all. I’d say leave them in team slayer as a “practice” for those who are going to do ranked.

Unless 343 adds a ranked Team slayer mode (with levels) I dont see this happen.
BR starts are always boring, especially on the smaller maps, they were never made for this in the first place.
Slayer is slayer for a reason, its not BR slayer.
One solution could be to add a secondary weapon or only BRs placed out on the map, then it becomes more like another power weapon.

If there only was a way to play Halo where you can choose wether to start with precision weapons or Autos, whether you want Slayer or objective… Hmmm oh wait there is… Play Master Chief Collection… Why isn’t the majority of the community playing the Halo game that has all the features they want? It’s quite mind boggling. MCC a proper Halo game we just need more players to come back to the superior Halo game.
Who camps with an AR? And I see no shortage of players dropping the AR for other weapons telling me it can’t be that over powered.

Br starts only works on tight maps with alot of cover /short lines.
That sounds good to some extent, but if they really want to provide us with “practice” for Ranked Arena, they should have added BR starts to the Quick Play list, instead. The variety in that list is a much closer approximation to the Ranked Arena matchmaking queue.
Personally, I still think that adding BR starts to Team Slayer was a horrendous decision for multiple reasons:

Team Slayer was arguably the most popular matchmaking playlist already. Why mess with success?

There was absolutely no advanced warning, community poll, or sneak preview on Twitter/Waypoint/Reddit regarding this change. They essentially pulled a Steve Jobs and “told us what we want” as soon as Season 2 was implemented.

This isn’t a minor change. Literally most of the potential game type/map outcomes (7 of 12 = 58%) are now Slayer BR

When they globally lowered the weapon melee damage by 10%, they “fixed” it in Ranked Arena so that the BR was still a 2-burst/melee kill. However, they did not fix it in Social matches! As a result, we are now forced to have BR starts in the most popular playlist, but the weapon does less damage than in Ranked matches? That is absolutely ridiculous.
If you want to play a gametype where all weapons get selected regardless of quality or context you already have fiesta.
AR stans really can’t do anything but lie about how precision start gametypes play out. At this point its just boring.
I agree, AR starts is the most fun for casual team slayer. Bring the og playlist back 343!

Just get good bruv and people do pick up weapons in it like the pulse carbine, needler, and sentinel beam.
I always pick up second weapons when i have a BR including and especially ranked.
If you need to reload, just change weapons.
With this strat any weapon pick up is a good one even something like the plasma pistol.
Now not counting that why would you pick up another weapon when it’s BR starts?
Assault rifle? Close up kills will shred a BR user.
Disrupter? weaken shields plus chain weakens other shields for your team to pop them off giving you the assists and helping the team.
Needler? open space?close to mid range? guaranteed kill.
Sidekick? Finish off an enemy instead of taking cover and reloading
Pulse carbine? Shred shields before swapping to the BR and finishing them they won’t even know what’-Yoink!- them
Commando? same as the sidekick but more range
I mean i can continue with every weapon in the game mate.

BR and sidekick could both do with some adjustments. Something quite telling about their balance if most matches players are using these over other weapons.
I’d want Quick play to be AR starts only, however I do think that BR starts shouldn’t appear as frequently as AR. It is worth saying though, some members of the community did want BR starts.
And there is certainly nothing wrong with that viewpoint. However, if 343i did plan to force us to utilize BR-only starts on any social playlist, it should not be Team Slayer. The Quick Play queue is clearly the social playlist that is the most similar to Ranked Arena.
But in fairness, you could say that about a lot of different things: “Please bring back the DMR,” etc.
Hate sidekick starts, stop forcing me to play sidekick slayer.

Ideally a match composer would solve this issue. You can select weapon class (whether you want mixed, BR, AR, etc. or not) and also game modes. And also, please bring back the DMR as a preference weapon.
