Does anyone know if there will be a lengthy decal staying time like in the original xbox Halo CE engine?
For example I literally managed to write my own name on a metallic structure in silent cartographer using the magnum, without the bullet holes disappearing.
I would assume that it has been unchanged and you will still be able to do that. Now can someone tell me if the RC warthog glitch will still work?
Don’t know, maybe, it’s mostly going to be the same game, just an extra graphics engine is layered over the top of it.
Everything you did on the original you can still do in Anniversary because the engine is exactly the same.

There is a lengthy podcast in which this is confirmed. I can’t remember the exact time frame of the video, but it’s somewhere near the beginning.
CEA podcast

I asked because in this video they disappear quickly.

Then again this was an early build so…
I wouldn’t be surprised if decals disappear quickly; the newer graphics possibly wouldn’t be able to handle huge numbers of long-lived, high-quality dynamic decals.

“Still” work? From what I understand, it was only ever doable on Halo PC as a result of HPC’s netcoding, so it might not show up in CEA.

I think that this might be a graphics question and not a gameplay. If it is then the bullet holes probably won’t last as long since the graphics engine is new. The longer the graphics engine has to hold bullet holes the less it can spend on graphics elsewhere. Although if you flip over to 2001 mode then it’ll work.

Confirmed several times. New graphic engine on top of old game engine.

I would guess that too.
Maybe if you shoot at the wall to make a word, you should try to switch to anniversary mode to see if the word is still there.
