Forge has been in the development pipeline as far as we can tell for quite a while. It may be in the studio’s interest to downsize the scale of development after Forge is released.
Usually as ship sinks, the rats start leaving.
There’s a big indication that people who leave a project when things start looking bad where the ones only in it for the money.
No person dedicated to creating good entertainment will leave because of bullies and psychopaths…
I’m all for a dedication and loyalty, but what if the environment at 343 is so poor they felt they had no choice?
I’m not very optimistic about anything that can possibly save the game.
I never was a fan of forge, I like its idea, but it felt like a task to look through stuff for me.
Co op would prob be sweet, for those who have campaign and have friends who even play still.
Sadly neither of these things actully fix anything in the game that I see most of the community complain about.
I dislike this narrative. I think it’s a very toxic element of work culture to deride someone for earning their paycheck and being self interested.
I want every employee at 343i to focus on getting by and earning their keep before I’ll ever be concerned with the final product of a piece of interactive software.
This sentiment in particular really bothers me. A person concerned with creating good entertainment also deserves to serve their own self-interests.
I’m not saying dedication and loyalty aren’t important. Quite the opposite really. I think people ought to be dedicated and loyal to the things that serve them.
Please refrain from calling developers rats.
Well screw the community. I’m curious now what you would like to see added to keep you interested. Is it something that could be achieved with a smaller scope of development?
It might be, but we’ll yet see.
Reminds me of the bar Eminem said “you lied through your teeth so hard they broke” boy ain’t that true
Quit making understatements.
If you are not aiming to create good content for your userbase, what even is your self-interest in any intellectual property? The sense of imagined sanctity it gives you and people who think like you of being “in control”? There’s a reason why a captain used to “goes down with the ship”, and that was specifically to prevent people with your mentality becoming captain…
As a ship starts to sink, you’ll get people who start bailing (the no-American sense of the word), and people who jump ship, and it’s clear from the recent 343 developments that people were in it for some other reason that creating a good intellectual property iteration…
*non-American (as in “bailing water” not “I’m going to bail on you guys”)
I would like the gameplay to be polished up more as it feels clunky to me, especially the aiming situation.
I honestly just want the game to feel better overall.
I would also like better matchmaking.
I def would add and remove some weapons, but thats really like a personal thing, on the reals tho, I prob just dont like them becasue the feel of the game itself makes it difficult for me to use them well.
I can’t really ask for anything else because those issues are the only things stopping my enjoyment.
Other issues I see people mention arnt really effecting me that I can tell, such as desync and things like that, so I cant really comment on them.
Sure more maps n stuff would be cool, unlocks n stuff are sweet too, but its not going to make the base game more enjoyable for me.
I don’t have much hope that they will do anything anytime soon with the way everything has been going, but I sure hope one day it will change!

To make money. Game development is a business. People go into it primarily because they enjoy it, but they don’t do it for free in the case of large development studios.
??? I am not in control. What?
Bruh. It’s a piece of interactive software. I don’t expect anyone to sink into the icey depths over desync. Why should anyone not serve their own self interests in a business with super high turnover and relatively fast development cycles?
Being good at creative content brings you money and that is literally “the business”. If you, as someone who is money driven, think they should be anywhere near the creative process then you are a deluded person.
You get good at creating content, and the financials always come second (but this is all moot with an IP like Halo that is affiliated with Microsoft, there is no reason for companies like that to be financially motivated other than having been infiltrated by bad actors).
If I were employing for video game company: brand, IP, or company loyalty would be more important to me than perception specifically to stop people like you becoming embedded contractually.
The thing that worries me is why should 343 keep spending the same amount to pay developers and create ad campaigns when the game is not nearly as profitable as it was nearly a year ago? With 96% of the playerbase gone you can assume cosmetic sales have fallen off a cliff. They saw what little impact Season 2 and the various events since launch have had on numbers. Im afraid theyll see that Season 3/ Forge/Coop dont have the expected effect and cut back on content even more from the slow drip this barebones game is currently getting
What really bothers me is this six month long BP. I’m a casual gamer. I work for a government contracting company, so my time to play is nothing crazy. I completed the BP in 45 days just playing maybe 2 hours after work. Also, we can go back and finish S1 if we missed out on that too. So why is a 3 month BP too far fetched for 343? If we missed out on things because of, I dont know, LIFE, why is it 6 bloody months. I have zero interest to play except see what the weekly ulti is. If i dig it, ill play a few matches a day. Other than that, Ive moved on. Its the same modes on the same 6 or so maps. Ive been playing the MCC campaign just to kill time till S3. But even that wont hold my interest. Played Halo since day one. This is by far the worst thing Ive seen.
At this point 343, make all the cometics free or unlock from challenges and throw in the towel. Halo 4 was eh to me, 5 was not even worth my time. Just read the synapse to know what was up with Chief. Infinite, if this ball was dropped any harder, we’d have another crater here in NA. Sorry guys, but everything about Infinite is a diaster. Take it off life support and move on. Figure you s%!t out, then maybe come back. But on the real, we’d probably give two flying F!@%s if you did…
Lmaoooooo That’s literally not true whatsoever. To the point where the “Starving artist.” Has been a trope for over a hundred years.
I am not money driven beyond paying my bills and taking my girlfriend out for the occasional night on the town. Microsoft is money driven. They are a business. Businesses exist purely to make money for their shareholders. That is what they do.
Tell that to the shareholders. I’m sure they really care about making a good piece of art over making a fast profit from their investment. (Sarcasm.)
Businesses exist to make money.
If I were employing for a company, I would hire the people who make me look the best so I could get a promotion. But since neither of us hire for anyone, I fail to see the point here.
All this to say, I really don’t think you should be calling developers rats for serving their own self interests. A thing that all people, everywhere have been doing since the beginning of time, and it’s hardly on topic.
My thoughts exactly.
I take the whole six month BP thing as an indication of what the development speed is on the game. Hard to tell since some things are far broader in scope than others, but I feel as though it’s at least an indication. Not to get too conspiratorial.
Beyond that I’m not sure if your response was all that on topic. No hate, just I kinda fail to see a through line here.
Because 343 has no content to add. Even the events are just doing the same thing you have already been doing, just calling it an event changes it I Guess??? 343 won’t even take the time to design an actual event, all they need to do is dangle a set of shiny keys in front of people to make them happy … and they know that’s all it takes.
