Has the BR been changed from the Arena Beta?

So I was watching this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nHquqYivYsk and if you go to the 9:00ish min. mark of the video, you’ll see the BR in action. It doesn’t sound at all like it did in the Beta. Not to mention it looks and sounds like it’s firing a single shot (I know it’s not, but it really sounds like it is)

The only thing I can come up with is either 1) they have changed the look/sound of the BR since the Beta or 2) Since this video is in warzone, it may be possible that this is a different BR from the one that we used in the arena beta.

If this is how the BR now looks and sounds, I must admit, I’m not a fan of it at all. I don’t understand why they would of changed it from how it was in the beta. Has anyone else noticed this?? Can anyone shed some light on this? What do you guys (and girls) think?

The rate of fire of the burst has increased which is why it sounds a bit different. This is a good thing for limiting separation between shots as you move and overall makes the BR more consistent.

Oh sweet gald they buffed it, saw a lot of beta vids where the ar and smg would have a faster kill time than the br at mid to even long range sometimes, that was not good.

It has undergone an increase in cyclic rate of fire slightly from the beta. If I had to guess I’d say cyclic rate is now about 1200 rpm which is insanely fast and would easily sound like one round. I believe this was done to compensate for the higher base speed.

I am pretty sure its the same as before mate it fired extremely fast in halo 5 guardians beta. all 3 burtsts acted like a single bullet.

To everyone who says the ROF has increased would it Be comparable to halo2 BR Halo3 BR or Halo4?

Can’t believe people missed this. All weapons sound different from the beta bc they got rid of the hit marker sound.

None. They all fired at exactly 900rpm. It now fires much faster and the time between bursts is much quicker.

The burst speed has increased; the rof is similar to Halo 2 if I had to guess.

OMG I also heard the Spartan using the BR had a crooked toe-nail too !!! Give me a break!

I see what you’re saying OP. I think if maybe they space the sound effect out by a fraction of a second more it will be perfect.

I hate it. It’s a burst-fire weapon, it should act like a burst-fire weapon, with actual separation between the bullets (which also requires better reticule tracking on enemy movement, making it play kind of unique). Now that it essentially plays like a single shot, it pretty much overlaps with the DMR on an insane level. One thing I hate in games is when weapons don’t feel unique from one another, when the guns feel same-ish. I like all weapons to be special, to be unique and try to fill it’s own particular niche. The BR and DMR play so much like the same weapon, it’s ridiculous, there’s like barely any difference now. At least in Halo 4, the BR and DMR felt like different, unique guns that filled different playstyles (although I still hate it). At least it’s not as bad as the overload of spray and pray, wide spread, fast-rate of fire automatic weapons, the AR/Storm Rifle/Suppressor/SMG/SAW/(maybe)Needler also just seem to blend in with one another. The first thing I look at in a first person shooter is it’s arsenal, and when that’s lacking, it’s a serious turn-off.

I’m pretty sure I remember it sounding a lot different when firing it in the Beta. You could hear each shot firing which I feel as you should, seeing is how it’s 3 shot burst weapon. Only makes sense to me.

Stop being an idiot! Everyone else here has offer as to why things have changed and that is what I was asking. We don’t need people like on the forums. Please leave!

I agree! It just sounds too much like a single shot to me.

Thanks for the information guys.
