It has always been a campaign only thing.
lol you guys have never hit “up” on the control pad and marked a area in multi-player? If anyone ACTUALLY KNOWS please let me know!!!

You used to be able to ping in multiplayer matches

Ya OP, pinging was the only thing one could do when hitting up on the D-pad. I dont know if it still exists do to me never using it cause no one pays attention enough.
Yeah it never “marked an area” it made your gamertag above your head flash momentarily.
I never knew you could even do this in the first place lol
@Porcin3 its helpful if you play in groups. I am asking if anyone knows for sure what happened to it.
I played an arena match yesterday on Empire and saw someone on my team do it, so I’d guess it’s still in. I think it’s one of those things that no one knows is in the game, so you don’t see it very frequently.
