Has Halo XB1 been a confirmed FPS game?

Well to my knowledge Halo XB1 hasn’t been confirmed a FPS game so i must say, if it ends up being Halo Wars 2 it would need some very major tweaks.

Check out these vids.

Also me being a large strategy fan i do hope that if this will be Halo Wars 2 that it will add more strategy than just Rush and Overwhelm.

If it turned out to be an Adventure game it wouldn’t be too far of a stretch for MC’s new journey.

Halo XB1 could be a third person shooter, as long as 343i manages either type of game as long as the game is well made.

I think they would have announced from the beginning their intentions to go on this path.

Plus, I would think, for the debut Halo game for the Xbox One, would stick to the traditional Halo FPS to draw in the loyal fan base to boost sales for the Xbox One.

Dedicated servers and 60 fps. I think they would’ve said otherwise if it wasn’t.

Are dedicated severs really a problem for a strategy game? Besides, I think Chief will only appear in FPS games.

RTS games don’t tend to be advertised by showing 1 dude in a desert.

> RTS games don’t tend to be advertised by showing 1 dude in a desert.

It was just a teaser, not exactly a trailer and didn’t Starcraft 2 have a trailer with 1 person getting in armor?

Link.

Or this for that matter.

Not only is Halo X1 likely going to be Halo 5, the story-arc of Halo Wars will sadly not be continued. (This has indeed been hinted and confirmed by 343i)

Again, as much as I’d love a Halo Wars 2, I do recall 343i stating that “Halo Xbox One” will be an all new first person shooter running with dedicated servers and a solid 60fps… That’s pretty indicative of it not being Halo Wars 2.

Not too sure that I like Action Games, and any possibility of it not being a First-Person-Shooter has been shot down.

I’m pretty damn confident that it’s Halo 5, but the only other remote possibility is Halo 2 Anniversary (which I’m not too fond of)

Regardless of what it is, it will be a great game.

Edumacate yourself from this thread that is stickied at the top of this forum. FPS was confirmed at E3.

If confirmed Dedicated Servers is a hint I’m going to assume yes.

The difference with the SC-II trailer is that its effectively the process of what the time was a generic terran marine (blizzard gave the guy a name during the animation process) getting geared up for war. It also ends with ‘hell its about time’ referencing how long its been since the previous RTS game. If this trailer were a UNSC marine, or even a generic Spartan, getting geared up for a war, I could probably buy it maybe being an RTS game.

Instead we have a specifically known character from a non-RTS game who is seemingly on his own in a desert. In addition with reports of 60 FPS, and dedicated servers.

  14. Thx Phynkesia for posting this in the Halo Xbox One forums (found by frenchfryjordan :

“While we originally said trilogy, we’ve actually expanded this to more of a saga, so we don’t want to limit the Reclaimer story within a trilogy.”

I don’t see anything here saying its a first person shooter. I hope you didn’t mistake the frames per second.

I did indeed read the acronym as first person shooter because it seemed weird to clarify the long form by putting the short form in parenthesis.

That being said, it has been confirmed.

Hey thanks for clearly things up and sorry for the late reply.

There would be no sense in making a 3rd person main Halo title.

I think Phil Spencer said something like “We just want fans to know that we’re making a Halo game for 2014 and that it’s a first person shooter…”

Here, found it.

You’re welcome.

Probably time for a lock to prevent misinformation.

It has been confirmed by Microsoft AND 343 employees and the first hand sources have been linked in this thread.

You know, that’s actually a very good question.

Since Microsoft wants to bring Halo into the next generation, and that this is their flagship franchise’s last chance, it’s most likely going to be a FPS.

Many rumors have been circulating that this is Halo 5 (which I kind of figured honestly), and I doubt that it would be anything but first person.

EDIT: Nevermind. It’s been confirmed.
