Has Halo 4 gotten rid of the annoying pauses?

Hey there, I’m getting really curios here…
Those pauses whenever a person is leaving / has left the game, are they finally gone from Halo with H4?

Do the words “host migration” mean anything to you? Halo is P2P. The fact that the host can quit instantly but barely interrupt the game is quite a feat of programming.

They are still there. I have seen them several times while watching some livestreams.

it’s a byproduct of how the game’s networking is managed.

deal with it, it is not that hard.

Right, and it’s okay to have a working system for who’s hosting… but what I’m talking about here is one minute of staring at the scoreboard as soon as -anyone- ragequits. I was hoping for a smoother solution to the whole thing. I’m guessing not everyone is co-hosting the games, or are they?

Did I offend you or are you always this grumpy?

Unfortunate, thank you mate.

Well, the issue is that even someone who isn’t the host can quit and still cause a black screen. And I completely understand why it needs to happen that way.

I’m fine with black screens in general. But I can’t tell you how many 1+ minute blackscreens I’ve sat it. Sometimes it happens 4-5 times a game. One person quits, it causes a blackscreen; others get fed up with the wait and they quit. And the process continues on and on.

I think the real problem is the matching the quitters properly. If only the game could pair frequent quitters with other quitters. But realistically, that probably isn’t feasible (at least in regards to finding quick matches).
