I’m not saying it is a bad weapon or anything, but why is it in Halo 4. Wasn’t it decommissioned sometime between Reach and CE/2 when the BR replaced it. If so then why are we seeing it in Halo 4 when, by the lore, it is no longer made or used by the UNSC?

Also, if the BR is the successor, why is the DMR such a power house compared to it? Not to make this a “DMR is OP” post, but sometimes, it gets to me. Doesn’t make much sense.
I get the same vibe. It seems like it was only kept because it was liked in Reach. I say even if the weapon was good toss it if it isn’t canon. Don’t mess up a well established lore.
This is not the same DMR from Reach that was decommissioned. That was the M392 Designated Marksman Rifle. This version is the M395 Designated Marksman Rifle. Its basically like the same car but a newer model.
Still though. The DMR was inferior to the BR by lore. Did they bring the DMR back as a new model just to confuse people.
