With today’s playlist update I see that alot of people are happier with halo 4. The smaller maps are enjoyed by many despite the few minor glitches and bugs that will likely be ironed out and for the first time I see people saying they love spartan ops, this forum is usually cluttered with dislike for SpOps. So has anyone felt like this is a nice step in the right direction? I imagine grifball next week and then doubles will only make things better especially doubles on a few of these forge maps. I am loving the forge test playlist and can’t wait for the future weeks.
Spartan Ops is vastly improved. No more are you running back and forth on tiny maps, there are actually large maps with very impressive looking environments. For example, when you walk through the small cave and end up looking into a giant cavern. That same mission had a very CE/3 feel to it, with large and wide caves leading into rounded areas.
The dialogue was also a lot more serious, though I think it feels strange seeing such a drastic change in the character’s personality overnight.
Everything felt new (except Cyclone and Control, which are just redesigned versions of Vortex and Infinity respectfully, but that’s forgivable), but I’m still afraid they will end up just recycling areas and missions again (which wouldn’t make sense, as there’s no reason to return to some areas like the Harvester).
Forge Playlist, not much I can say here other than all the new maps are better than the old ones, but still need some tweaking. All the maps also have (mostly) static spawns on the map, which feels a lot more like Halo than the others.
Lastly, where is Slayer Pro? Slayer Pro would be perfect on these new maps.
Overall, 8/10 update. Halo 4 still has plenty of issues, but it’s harder for me to say it sucks and easier for me to call it Halo 4 now.
Haven’t really played in like a month. This is the first thing that have done to make me want to try it again. I would have played it the past few weeks if the rotational playlist wasnt an existing plalist with INFINITY CHALLENGE next to it.
