Yea, it does matter, what game do you know that costs 1k to buy the full game, from the launch. It will get even more the longer the game goes on. If every season has the same amount of content, we would’ve ended up with a $49’000 price tag for the full game, $20’000 if half, at LOWEST. That is way too expensive
why not only buy the costmatic you really like and do not care about the others you give notting about.
since its more pointless to calculated all the stuff price for costmatic stuff you give notting about.
Why would anyone buy all the store content? Even in the days of old I ignored 99% of the cosmetics after deciding what I wanted. It’s no different now. And by that notion, Infinite actually cost less since I’ll basically only buy the one or two things I want (whenever I find it).
Yeah idk some people have this weird obsession with having EVERYTHING unlocked as if they can wear or have everything all equipped at once lol. I find it odd that you’d even want to have everything. Some of the stuff that’s been in the store up to this point has been objectively ugly and atrocious
If they’ve reduced the prices a decent amount I might (possibly, maybe) buy a set of skins for the vehicles or the Mk VII cat ears. Was wondering if they’d reduced prices much across the board, that was all.
Most replies in here have been saying it doesn’t matter as you’re not supposed to own all the content.
Believe me, I’ve seen people on here who have been trying to get everything, they must have spent over a hundred dollars by now. Hopefully the price reductions will help people like that.
It’s the idea of having the option to pick it should your tastes ever change. I know this from experience. I have to have everything because who knows? I might want to wear/use it one day. Honestly though, I’ve only spent the $10 for the Battle Pass and that’s it. As cool as some of the cosmetics look, I’m not choking up money for a cosmetic, I’m too used to just working for what I want in games.
I think having thousands of dollars worth of virtual trash as an option to buy sets a bad precedent, but that precedent has already been set, yet that also doesn’t mean I think game companies should continue to run with it.
This “don’t like it don’t buy it” thing doesn’t matter when it still exists and you still don’t like it.
That’s why defending a practice like this doesn’t really jive with me. I mean yeah other companies do it but are they better because of it?
They get to design what’s essentially a one platform untradeable NFT and hit the print money button.
It’s almost as if most other games have a wide variety of things for you to unlock, often through challenges and time spent, that give you a variety of looks to experiment with.
As someone who loved unlocking as much as possible in previous games and in other FPS brands, I completely despise the attitude of “Why do want to have a ton of stuff? You can’t wear it all at once anyway!”
Very normal thing i think for people who grew up and were obsessed with the way halo 3 did it. Achievements were new and the additional pitch/surprise of challenges to unlock armor pieces were a cool new thing at the time that made halo 3 a good pitch as a game and as a purchase.
The F2P micro-transaction of most multiplayer games these days is that they wanna make enough stuff to cover ALL sorts of tastes and styles cause there is absolutely no barrier to entry and if a game is FREE and looks siiick to some average joe, they are more likely to end up checking it out and maybe buy A thing.
The only pitch most of these games ever make real good on is that they’re live games you can get in and play with others at anytime and for new halo, that’s a pretty cool thing but as a F2P “PRODUCT” the MP and its challenge/rewards don’t satiate the player in the same way making it feel like a shallow mimic of Halo 3’s system for sure. And I’d tribute that to how broken up this game had to become to release it in a comprehensive manner and even that is debatable.
All that said I think if you’ve been completing the free Tenrai pass up to this point and have the yoroi core, that last store cycling of Yoroi dailies gave us some reasonably unique looks along with that Gold and white Bundle that was in the store for like $10.
Like, I don’t need to make all 3 of my Spartans Iron man red and gold for $20 but if all i use is the yoroi and have no BP, the $7 bundle offer makes sense as a bundle that they can just put back up in the window time and time again since the Fractures repeat and act as attention grabbers for any potential newcomers getting into Infinite. Maybe allows it to get discounted in the future as the larger catalog is developed. Would like to see more Bundle coatings like Desert Sun/Forgotten Sands, that work on All current cores but only requires the free-event core Yoroi. Idk, Time will tell
