i really dont mind the different looks but i think they should have decided wich one they would stick with.

Well without pictures, I know what you mean, the Elites eyes in Halo 3 & Reach are different.
This is the same for all Halo games, they change design, looks and feel, the fact in Reach you are not Master Chief makes you feel smaller for a start, as Noble Six is a smaller character.
But its mainly for design, Bungie tried to nail the seriousness of Elites in Reach, they got it perfectly in my opinion, if I see a Elite Ultra or Ranger, I go running on Heroic+.

well at least the assasination is a quick and easy kill.
The eye differences are because of the Ocular coverings they use for their HUDs. That’s why the Arbiter’s eyes in Halo 2 are different from all the other elites.
