I know they will eventually release some kind of beta. They always do with a new Halo game that has MM in it. So it would make sense that they would release one, probably in late spring or early summer. Anybody have anything to contribute? Fact or rumor is fine.
Nothing has been announced as of yet. It may be revealed when more information is known about halo 4. perhaps on the 29th…
Hopefully. We can only hope so. Ah, and hopefully we can choose between SPARTANS and Elites at free will and play as them in all MM gametypes. Missed that from Halo 3.
> They always do with a new Halo game that has MM in it.
Only Halo 3 and Halo Reach has had a MP Beta, Halo CE and Halo 2 did not have MP beta, they did not have a public beta either. Also, Bungie was the ones who had betas for Halo 3 and Halo Reach, not 343i, and since Bungie is no longer in charge of Halo, and has no part in it any more, 343i is the ones running the show, and we don’t know what they’re going to do, so don’t say “I know they will eventually release some kind of beta”, because we don’t know.

Again, we’re talking about 343i, not Bungie, so don’t go making speculations based off of past Halo Betas, new game, new company, new game plan. Also, I would more likely guess if there is a beta, and that’s a big IF, it’d most likely be mid to late summer or early fall, both Halo 3 and Halo Reach was released early to mid fall, which put the betas in early summer. Halo 4 is being release in Q4, which is around Oct, Nov, Dec.

Fact: Worry about learning more about Halo 4 other than a CGI trailer and a concept art trailer before even thinking about a beta.
I tried googling it, but a bunch of fake stuff came up.
No info on that yet, but hopefully there is a beta.
Because why buy a game you can try but don’t like?
That was my mistake with Reach, but at least the TU made it worth the money.
Eventually
Frankie said that the date for the beta won’t be until some time around mid this year which means it could be May, June or July. I’m expecting around E3.
of course not

When did he say that?
That would imply we have any sort of Halo 4 information at all…which we don’t…just sayin’ 343.
Is there even going to be a beta?

Spot on.
For some reason I doubt there is going to be one. I hope I’m wrong though.
I closed my eyes, pointed at the calendar randomly and have come to the conclusion that the date will be July 28th.
Coincidentally enough, this is the same method used by all the “insider leaks” that this forum routinely goes ape -Yoink- over.

We don’t even know for sure if there is a beta.

AHA, but you have forgotten my good sir, that a lot of the 343i workforce has come from Bungie. Not to mention the head of it all, Frank O’Connor. Bungie’s blood is still in this beast, which gives hope and more probability for a beta. Although, neither of us are correct at the moment. Only time will tell.
Sorry to say this guys but I hope there won’t be a beta for Halo 4. Now the only reason why I say this is because if you look at the past beta’s all they did is tone down the certain weapons such as the Covenant and make the Human weapons overpowered when we all know it should be just the opposite. Plus all we get are a lot of people complaining that the game sucks and so on… But the real problem are the ones that want to stay in the past and not move forward with Halo. Halo 2 turn out just fine without a open beta so why can’t we have that for Halo 4? People are going to buy it no mater what like they do for Call of Duty and so on.
Now I understand were people are coming from when they would love to have a beta come out so we can see what 343 is working on. But at the same time I don’t want the community to ruin Halo 4 by saying oh the maps are way to big or the grenades are to powerful. So lets make explosion feel like COD and Medal of Honor where bullets to more damage then a explosion. Lets make these small maps so it feel more like (COD)a run and gun game.
That’s why I love Halo: Combat Evolve and Halo 2 because they both had all type of style maps. Like the medium and large range maps gave you choices to explore the map and find good spots to get kills. Plus giving you vehicles on certain maps gives a player more ways to come up with a strategy for the the map. Instead of just who control the middle controls the map. But that’s why I would prefer to have no beta at all.

Actually it has been said that you can count the number of former Bungie employees who work at 343i on one hand.
343i is to smart to not have a Beta.
