I was searching for my last infection game of the day on the Infection playlist before I went to bed and when the game found me a match, it didn’t do the countdown before spawning me into the match. Normally when the game skips the countdown it means that the game is going to put you into a game that already started, but I was thinking to myself that can’t be because playlist like Infection and Free for all doesn’t allow players to be put into matches that already started because those are playlist where you are not on a team. Everyone has their own score and there can only be 1 winner in each match so it would be very unfair if they spawn you into games that already started in those 2 playlists. But once the game started I realized that the match hasn’t even started yet and round 1 was about to begin. So I thought that the game just skipped the countdown for whatever reason and that’s it. But once round one started, I was on a spectator screen like I was dead.
At first, I thought everyone was stunk on the spectator screen but then I heard gunshots and saw that people were dying. Also when people were killing each other both the survivor and the infected were red. Meaning at the time I was on neither side so the game didn’t allow me to spectate the match. Also as soon as I was put on the spectator screen it said “Player left” and I have a feeling that has something to do with this bug. At first, I was pissed because I thought the game spawned me in dead, but soon I realized that I was getting points as if I was a survivor ( it was contingency and you get points for being a human) and once the last human died, I got both the “Last man standing” and “Survived” medals and the points that went with it. Plus the round automatically ended while saying the humans survived which is a first for me. In order to get a survived medal and actually win the round as a human, you have to wait for the timer to run out but there was still 2 minutes and 30 seconds left when I got the medals. At the end of round 1, I had 28 points and I didn’t even move my spartan yet. And at the end of the match, I was 2nd place because there was a beast in the match that got 3 Killionaires, but I beat everyone else.
Has this bug ever happened to anyone? Or any sort of glitch where the game does something weird on the first round? Because for some reason I can’t find videos of glitches like this happening. And this is not the first time something like this happened to me. Back in 2017 something similar happened while playing infection. In this glitch, the game spawned in a human that had a shotgun and an assault rifle but wasn’t on the survivor team on round 1 in infection. This person wasn’t me but I met up with him and we ended up killing each other with a shotgun basically infecting each other. I want to know just how rare the game does this sort of stuff because I can’t find anything like either of these 2 videos on youtube. If you know any other glitches similar to these 2 then please share them. It seems like it only affects the first round.

It’s really rare nowadays. It was pretty common in the past (Minotaurs in Action Sack being the worst offender of this glitch). I think this was the very reason why JIP was removed from Infection game types. Or at the very least, if JIP is still in effect for Infection game types, you always spawn in as an infected. You were just unlucky (or lucky enough depending on how you look at it) to fill a spot just before the game started, but just late enough that you weren’t actually spawned into the round. So while you’re “dead” and can only spectate, you’re “alive” and collecting points while not being on the field.
Had that once in a contingency match,after all other humans are dead or the round ends and the next round starts you’ll spawn normally

Yes this is extremely common, especially in Custom Games. So common in fact, that there is a special script that I’ve put in all the Contingency maps (and any maps that I’ve had involvement in scripting; I also tell all infection forgers to put the spawn safety in their infection maps to assist in this 1st out of 6 remaining infection map glitches) that forces the round end when all the spartans are dead and there are any players that have not spawned still in the game waiting; otherwise you’d all have to wait out the round time to 0 and then the next round starts; we all know how much that sucks. This is called the ‘no spawn’ glitch, and can only happen in the first round. This is the first confirmation that the script I’ve placed is indeed still in the maps in matchmaking, so that’s at least good 
Had the exact same thing happen to me about a month ago, but it was in a custom game. Realistically it shouldn’t have let you join, so it’s defiantly a glitch.
