I did and wow is it fun. if only the framerate wasn’t so bad it would be all i play. i still love it though and thought maybe if more went back and played we could get that running stronger than reach.
It doesn’t have hitscan.
ZBNS > Halo 3
I went back earlier this week, MY GOD dual weilding SMGs is friggin sweet.
zb is good but what about
- maps with even starts with power weapons equal distance
- a couple maps with one or two vehicles just to mix things up and change how a map plays
- good movement speed
- no aa’s like jetpack to ruin a map.
- social or ranked
just to name a few.

- Reach maps are bad, Halo 3’s are only a teensy bit better.
- I do miss how there were Ghosts on small-team maps, but I don’t like vehicles in the first place.
- 120 speed, no sprint.
- MLG/Classic settings. They somewhat work as pickups.
- I play customs.
I have, and… it was pretty terrible. Walking across giant maps is a pain, at least sprint gives you something to keep track of. BR is awful at long ranges, and yes, I do know how to lead. Even up close it was pretty iffy. The amount of weapons was kind of silly, did we really need SMGs, ARs, and Maulers?
I loved Halo 3, but it has not aged as gracefully as the nostalgia brigade would have you believe.
> did we really need SMGs, ARs, and Maulers?
You shut your mouth! I am not that big a fan of Halo 3, but the SMG and Mauler were essential.
Halo 3 would be more fun if peoples Internet connections were not -Yoink-. Too many folks quit games also
Yes… still don’t like it.
Played halo 2 the other day… still great. Same with CE.
I played it and cried.
Not because of the nostalgia, because of how low Bungie sunk with it’s follower.
After only playing about a hundred games before coming to Reach, I returned for one game to get the nameplate (which will be useless in a few days) and I never looked back.
If I could get more then two dollars for trade in, maybe I would take the time to take it in to gamestop, but Im not sure they would offer me that much =/
I play Halo 3 almost everyday
Yeh, I enjoyed ice skating on Mexican hosts.
Yes, I’ve gone back to H3 after Reach’s release.
I didn’t stay long due to how slow and boring it was walking around in a nonchalant manner. Man, why was there no sprint for H3?
And the visuals. Bleh! So dated and irrelevant compared to Reach.
I’ve been playing through the campaign over the past few days. I like the variety of settings it offers compared to Reach. Also, hearing the marines, grunts, and brutes chat is nice.

Oops, I meant Spikers, but Maulers were kind of pointless too since they were just another shotgun. And don’t get me started on duel wielding…
Halo 3 is all I play now. After reaching Inheritor I saw no reason to keep playing. Plus I want to try to reach General before H4
> Yeh, I enjoyed ice skating on Mexican hosts.
I know right!
Seriously though, Halo 3 is the only Halo I play anymore.
the real question is :
Why haven’t more people gone back to playing H3?
ANSWER: consumer zombie noobs that play anything new and don’t know the difference between pyrite and Au.
I actually never played H3 Matchmaking before Reach… Yeah, sad, I know. But whenever my friends and I are feeling a bit of a change, we hop on over to H3! I kinda wish I had played it back in its glory days.
