Has anyone found a video with..

I’m curious, what is the highest ground pound that you’ve seen on a video?

I’ve heard that you get ground pound damage depending on the height in which you fall, meaning if you just jump up and ground pound real quickly, it isn’t an instant kill.
But… Has anyone seen a video on Warzone where someone went reallllllly high in a banshee and just ground pounded for -Yoink- and giggles?
I’m curious if someone has, if you have can you link me?

Also, do you think it would be a MASSIVE power boost, or do you think that ground pound has a damage cap that it can deliver, of just putting out a kill damage in a small radius, or could it actually gain power enough to say… blow up a tank or something that is in it’s vicinity?

I’m sure it has a damage cap.

Hopefully not.

There’s a section in one of the season 1 sprint videos in which the player ground pounds from the top of orion and it doesn’t seem to deal any more damage than from a master chief height jump

I’d like to see someone ground pound through a never ending teleporter and then have the teleporter deleted for a massive attack XD

One of those vehicle launchers from Reach… my god, this blew my mind…

I saw a 343i “making of” or “the sprint” video or something where they were talking about working out bugs in the game and it cut to a scene of devs playing what looked like a campaign level (could have been a large mp level) and the spartan ascended a very narrow beam and then jumped off, charged ground pound, then flew down 100’s of yards to an area that was clearly “out of bounds” and walked around free of damage. A disappointed groan resounded among the devs at the sight of this action.

The spartan survived the fall and was now “out of the map”

I’m not sure if this is considered a bug or maybe even a hint at what type of mechanics we will need to utilize for collectibles, but it maybe answers your question haha

It would be cool but like in reach, eventually you’ll go so fast that the teleporter won’t register you and you will hit the ground

here a link of a gif of ground pound vs tank that I stole from another thread who stole it from Reddit lol

Tank wasn’t having any of that nonsense.

I’d be interested to see how that turns out.

yeah he just bounced off lol

This is the highest I’ve personally seen. 2:00 minute mark.

Ground pound from the highest point possible and slipspace rupture occurs, breaking the Xbox and creating radiation in your living room. You grow a 3rd arm shortly after.

i dont know but i have immagined some sky diving with that just get in the max high then jump and grounp pound u should survive the fall and make a swagger arrival

The highest I have seen is a ground pound off of the spire in warzone and that was an instant kill.

I’m just curious if anyone seen some footage on an obscure warzone recording.
I’ll be doing it almost immediately just for the shizzles and giggles, but was curious was to expect.

At the tank thing, that was literally a few feet in the air, at the back of the tank. Of course he didn’t take any of that nonsense. I am curious about the cage where the driver sits though, it’s still splash damage, and not a direct hit damage that might kill him.

Well, if 343 wants to stay true to the natural laws of physics we experience in this reality (which for some reason it seems they do), then there needs to be a damage cap. The height at which you fall/drop/descend becomes irrelevant once you reach a certain altitude (not all that high). Once you reach free-fall speed, you are free falling. Assuming the Ground Pound Thrusters exert only an initial burst of force to help the player gain acceleration toward the ground, the height at which they reach their terminal velocity shouldn’t be much (if any) higher than two times the height of the player himself.

Ground pound is stupid, IMO. Imposing penalties for making use of it suggests it’s a very shallow mechanic, because it’s not becoming difficult enough to use naturally on its own; and not much (if any) more difficult to use it when further away from the targeted enemy. Bygod.

Dig my casket up once this gif loads and show it to my corpse

This is the highest to date that I’ve seen in any video. I’ve seen a lot of videos lol. Skip to the 3:30 mark. it happens a few seconds later.
