A surge in the number of players using active camo and promethean vision. For the past couple of days I’ve considered myself blessed should I not be in a game where the entire opposing team is composed of these players. To add insult to injury, they often camp hard and as a result my k/d has suffered significantly.
I don’t know what 343 can do about the overuse of these abilities, but I just need to get this frustration off my chest. When playing these guys, the game just is not fun and that completely ruins the appeal of it.
1-Radar disruption
2-Adds disruption to placing shots making it harder to be killed
3-Invisibility when needed
4-Throw off the amount of people in area
I’m getting tired of arguing why all these weapons and abilities are unbalanced. Hopefully you guys will come around eventually and see why they are so often used.
I always ran for the active camo in older Halo games, and Active Camo was all I used in Reach. Camping is not necessary to use it. I have it off an on when I am running around the map. Can’t say I find any other armor ability useful.
I’ll admist that I use the vision. But it seems that everyone just camps it out now. Im tired of getting double beat down when i turn a corner. And also to counter act camo. I hate Camo Snipers. So it levels the playing field for me to see them. But I hate how Camo is still an ability. In all the the other halo, Besides reach, you had to fight for camo. You would either kill the team or take it and burn it. You had to earn the camo. But now everyone is using. And HIDES. Come on now son this isn’t COD.

The only reason I use Pro vision is because I use bumper jumper. Using that button layout your armor ability is x. If I could use any armory ability it would be jet pack for the map mobility.
If you are playing against people who are using Prom vision then they are most likely not using the Wetworks mod. So just use it back. Check the next room for enemies before you run in. Hell throw a grenade if you still think someone is there.
I use Active Camo to compensate for the fact that as an old guy I can’t aim as fast as most players. I don’t camp, I snipe a lot, but if people can see me they can often target my head before I can target theirs. Sadly, the AC doesn’t do anything about the fact that they are often moving too much for me to get off a good shot.
I use Promethean vision to scan for enemies at long distance so I can see where all the fighting is going on and flank them. I don’t think I’ve ever had someone camp me with it, mostly people with active camo.

If they decide some are being overused or giving people an unfair advantage they can nerf them. The simplest nerfs for active camo are to short its life and extend the recharge time, for example.

Truth be told, I often do. However, there are certain instances where there’s a firefight and I rush in only to be taken out by another player hiding on the outskirts of the battle, which is rather frustrating.
I use both of those; only use others in Spartan OPS. This is because Prom and Camo are the only useful ones, the others just aren’t. Better vision, and reducing your visibility outweigh burst of speed, jetpack or a health bubble etc any time.
Poor balance is all I say. Played Halo since the start, and these ruin the balance.
I find myself using active camo less and less, there are other AA more suited to certain playlists. I find it easy to smoke out opponents who are using active camo, the radar is a dead giveaway to their presence in the vicinity. When you get the jump on them they are usually ill prepared as they are most likely crouched or in a corner or both. Also helps to stick with teammates. The more aggressive active camo user will get the jump on one opponent, but against two or three he will be quickly dispatched.
