Has Anyone Else Lost Incentive?

Before I even begin, I’m not whining about Halo like everyone else here. I am simply concerned with these aspects of Halo 4:

  1. I have lost all incentive to really play Spartan Ops besides completing commendations. The lack of a visible scoring system and visible medals earned is disappointing. Don’t get me wrong, I love Spartan Ops, but it doesn’t offer me a real goal to achieve something.

  2. The campaign is amazing to say the least. Again I have lost an incentive to play it again because of a lack of scoring system and commendations. I love replaying all the Halo games because they were fun. Yes Halo 1 and Halo 2 did not have a scoring system, but I really missed what 3 and reach gave me in campaign.

  3. I’m not going to touch on matchmaking, everyone is ticked off about that.

  4. The lack of custom game types and forge capabilities is disappointing too. Where did they go?

Just really curious if anyone is feeling the same way about these things.

Not me. I’m trying to get to the specializations.

Not til I get my Gungnir!

only 75 more wins to go… then on to the last tier…

I’m a 119, should only take me 2 days to get to 130. Too easy.

I lost alot of incentive to play, cant wait for ranks!

The second I noticed the lack of a local only search option I lost all incentive to play the game at all.

After I get all achievements I doubt I’ll play the game again.

While custom game options are lacking, I’m sure that you and your friends could benefit from use of these neat tricks.

Not going to lie I’m getting a little bored. The SR ranking never really drew me in. For me it’s pretty much play 15 games on haven, get bored and get off. Oh well I’ll play here and there until some new features get implemented.

I don’t know what you’ve said about matchmaking (MY biggest problem is lag/no good connection option) but I totally agree with everything else you’ve said!

To me it was rather disappointing that there’s no scoring/medals. They made the game more fun and I played through the Reach campaign quite a few times (even without the incentive of cR or commendations driving me though commendations were nice also). Now I kind of want to play, but care less than I should also. It’s also what disappointed me about Anniversary - given that was predominately a campaign release it could have totally used scoring.

Also, I really don’t see why 343 didn’t retain older game types (even if they don’t directly use them). More options like that would have been nice.

While I can live without Forge World (never cared much for the size), I did like the different terrain and options it offered and would like something like that in Halo 4 again. That’s my biggest problem with Forge World (aside from minor glitches).

I think it would be good to either extend the level cap at some point or to add other stuff too. Because I do think that when a lot of people start hitting SR130 then they may start to get bored of no longer being able to gain anymore. I am only SR53 so I have a ways to go still, but I would like there to be more by the time I hit SR130 though.

I lost incentive, so I just reduced my Halo 4 to one day a week. Mondays. Spartan Ops releases, a couple BTBs and maybe some Team Regicide (if it’s still there) and back to Skyrim.

I find that it works quite nicely. Also the boards are providing more entertainment value than Spartan Ops so there you are.
