has anyone been un-wowed so far? *serious question

Not trying to start “the game sucks” thread but anyone unimpressed by the flights? I just don’t know what to make of infinite right now. I don’t like the voice in mp that tells you weapons are available, the general feel of weapons feel chunky and underpowered. All the maps i’ve played aren’t anything to write home about, the only one that i kinda liked was the one with vehicles, the worst one being the live fire map (if i got the name right?) which i found very small and boring to play on.

The vehicles also seem less fun to drive than they were in the old games, something about them just seems off…

Don’t like menu music, i got sick of that well quick and had to turn the volume down.

What I did like was the amount of display, ui / hud settings to tinker with so i could turn off annoying stuff like “speed lines”.

really undecided about the game, i hope the campaign is good.

I’m undecided, love Halo 5 as a competitive game, hate it as a casual one. Love Halo MCC as a casual game, but hate it as a competitive one.

This game definitely look like it ticks the casual box for me, BTB will fully confirm it. Just hope it’s good competitively. It feels like it will be. I don’t know why but I get the feeling HI Doubles is going to be amazingly fun.

I’m impressed so far, but need to see everything else before I can confirm this is my new main game to play long term.

more or less what i’m thinking, i guess. I want to see the campaign before anything else. if it has good replay value, that will make the game worth buying. f2p mp on it’s own won’t cut it for me.

Yeah I’m super keen to see some proper updated campaign footage. I want to see a bit more about what we are doing in this open world style and the updated raytraced graphics.

Now the game is 2 months away I’d be really hoping to see more from it. Most games you’ve seen some gameplay walkthroughs, trailers or just multiple release trailers by now. There has been a lot of focus on MP side which is fine but I also feel like our knowledge of that is fairly limited as we have only seen a handful of maps, not even a cheeky glimpse of the others, concept art or teasers. Would be nice to know something. I wonder if they have many maps ready and are still deciding which ones to launch the game with and which to hold over for the first few seasons. Would explain why there is so little footage right now outside of the flights.

I’m sure we will get something before release.

So far I feel like I’ve been fighting my controlls and the -Yoink- aim more than any enemy team. If this is how it plays at launch, I don’t think I’ll stick around. Guns just feel bad to use for me.

I still think the implementation of “coatings” (armor-skins) is a full on four steps backwards in the costumization department. It genuinely -Yoinking!- sucks, and it’s absolutely something I’m not at all happy about.

P.S. I’m on Xbox Series X if that matters.

Always funny to see People ditch the game. Then you go look at there profile zero Halo history. End of rant

No, I haven’t been un-wowed. I loved what I got to play in the 2 flights so far. I feel like a lot of people here are putting too much into a beta weekend. Nothing is gonna be perfect yet, that’s the whole point of the flights.

I’m glad to see somebody bring up the maps. I agree with you, every map except the big one with vehicles is a clunker. I actually liked the gameplay on Bazaar but it seems like something lifted from CoD and doesn’t partake in the aesthetic of the Halo universe at all.

I don’t think this is a “well that’s your opinion” deal either. It’s a fact, these maps are bad. I’m bothered by the fact that apparently nobody at 343 sees that these maps are sub par. I’m bothered that with a professional art department full of super talented people nobody sees what’s wrong with these maps. Boxes with no attempt to disguise that it’s a box. Lack of significant art features that allow players to orient themselves. i could do these maps myself in an editor. Non-descript spartan training facilities. How boring.

This game is close to launch, and this is not professional design work.

Your SR should be visible when you pop off about Halo.

You don’t know if that person played on a different account. My account shows plenty of Halo history but in truth I have far more history on another account that I forgot my password to.

And he has a point about the maps. This game won’t have any legs if it doesn’t launch with better maps. And before you come off the top rope on me let me say that I love Halo as much as anybody out there. I would just like them to not screw this one up.

My first impressions of the game were definitely not great, with the AR spam, quick kill times and weird aiming, but as time went on, especially when Behemoth was released I started liking it more and more. AR is still an issue, but I have faith that they’ll fix it. Seems like some of the loudest feedback from this flight. I also don’t love the battlepass xp system, and that also feels like something that will be addressed (there’s literally no good will for it) As the weekend went on I started using the equipment more, and started getting the hang of everything. Personally, I can’t wait for this game to release now. I was cautiously optimistic and still am, but a lot of what I was concerned about has been lessened at least.

My current impression is that it is just ok. Some of my issues will probably be addressed eventually, but I doubt all of them will. The weapons need tuning and friendly fire needs to return. I’m not a fan of the personal ai, but hopefully we will be able to mute it. I dislike the outline system and hope that we will eventually be given a toggle option. Every weapon being on a weapon pad with a timer dumbs down the experience and just seems silly to me. Why is there a random weapon locker in a new Mombasa market? No progression system is a killjoy for me. On top of everything else, my wife and I were looking forward to co-op campaign for the first time in 9 years, but now that isn’t a possibility at launch.

The game is beautiful and the gameplay has potential, but so far I’ve been underwhelmed

As an original Halo fan from 2001 and still playing, I have loved them all for their differences and at times similarities.
loved the first flight, disliked the second !
aim set up has been changed for change sake.(for pc players)
TTK bit to fast taking the skill element of straffing to avoid bullets and Strongsiding away (For those of us who remember) is missing.
problem Halo fans/players have to now remember is THIS GAME IS NOT BUILT FOR US, it is built to appeal to the casual gamer who wants a Warzone type experience, drop in and blast things spend cash on skins and who cares if they come back. Bungee I miss you

The flight has been fun to play so far and yes there are a things that are not perfect but 343i is definitely working on it. This game is not going to be launch and forget. They will probably change this game and work on it more than any of the other Halo because of the way they are going about development post-launch.

Overall, I’m excited to play when it is released.

You liked Bazaar? I couldn’t stand it. I didn’t mind Live Fire or Recharge, but neither were great. I think that Behemoth was legitimately great though. Fits that desert-y, Halo-y aesthetic perfectly and feels like it could have been pulled straight out of Halo 3 in the best way possible. The weapons sandbox also felt A LOT better on Behemoth than in the other 3. It makes me a lot more excited for BTB this weekend than I was on Friday night lol.

New account and I don’t play mp on the mcc, mainly campaign. Stopped playing halo for several years before buying the mcc on steam. You don’t have to be a fanboy to give an opinion, one can just be a regular gamer. Halo is not my life.

p.s. i couldn’t care less about my SR. it means nothing to me.

I only play games I really like and what i’ve seen of halo infinite the flights has been pretty average at best. anyways, no more replies from me to this thread, didn’t take long for it to get derailed.

Only thing I agee with you on is vehicles, specifically the warthog. Needs to roll over and be affected by physics more easily and all vehicles should not be able to correct for landing in mid-air. Otherwise, I’ve been pretty pleased with what is being offered and I think overall the gameplay and sandbox have a solid foundation to build on.

You didn’t like the music? Bro… Take care Drahicr, what you say is heresy!
