I believe that they have only stated that they have/are looking into a higher player count at some point in the past but never official

Having a player count increase to 32 would increase interest in the game IMO.

I’m hoping for at least 24 player lobbies

Of course not, the beta just found the most balanced way to get feedback from the beta was in a basic 4 v. 4 arena, we will probably have 8 v. 8 like in every other game.
