Has 343 Responded To MCC Lately?

If any moderators or 343 employees browse the forums here, please respond to this thread. The Master Chief Collection needs support, haven’t seen much of it at all since Halo 5 was released.

About 2 months ago, Grifball was added to matchmaking. 4 months before that, a new rotating playlist was slated to be released (I looked this up when Grifball came out). Just pointing this out to show how uncoordinated they are with this community regarding anything. Some of this section may know that, but most of you will know MCC is quite flawed.

I recently became more active on these forums to determine for myself if 343 is as oblivious to MCC as it seems. I would rather not make a reddit account just to go to r/halo, though that seems to be a popular alternative.

update: here’s the blog post in question about grifball: https://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/news/halo-community-update-the-calm-before-the-storm

also mentions head to head in the future. Grifball was introduced to MCC in July, and doesn’t currently even include the classic Foundry Grifball court.

I wouldn’t exactly say that your issues are falling on deaf ears, but 343 has really put the MCC on the backburner. Unless there are major game breaking issues, it’s likely not to get resolved in a timely manner. I love the MCC to death, but there were so many issues for the first five months of the game that all of the routine maintainence got pushed back/pushed off indefinitely. Whether it’s 343 or Microsoft’s fault is unknown to us, the peon consumer, but it’s really unfortunate.

It kind of just is what it is man. I don’t like that answer either, because it’s what I bought Xbox One for, but I can’t do anything about it.

I think the last actual patch to the game was over a year ago. 343 hasn’t said that they won’t be patching the game again, but let’s be honest, they’ve moved on to Halo 5, Halo Wars, and H3A or whatever their next game after that is. They had that playlist update a few months ago but don’t expect anymore substantial updates for this game.

I don’t know what 343’s deal with MCC is. It definitely seems like the bare minimum of time was spent working on and polishing the game before release, and now they keep it completely in the dark. Announcing a potential playlist then releasing it months later without any word of it online almost seems like a forgotten accident. I suppose the only thing they’ve somewhat delivered with MCC is the rotating playlists, but even that is pathetic compared to what the playlists should represent.

I also bought an Xbox One just for MCC. I’ve had a lot of fun on it, but the lack of communication (lies, ignorance) between developer and consumer is incredibly frustrating. At this point, alls I want is Halo 3 to finally be backwards compatible if MCC is going to get abandoned as well. But of course then there’s the speculation of Halo 3 anniversary, which seems pointless to me but I suppose I could be for it.

It’s funny that you posted this as I was in the process of doing somewhat the same thing.

Honestly, to both of your points (bigdaddytp, Wait) - I think you should be rooting for a Halo 3 Anniversary. That way, the voting for Halo 3 will decrease in the MCC, and the people that want to play Halo 3 will get solely that.

haha, we’re not all super super articulate, but we all want the same thing and most should know it. playlist structure is crazy flawed, i’ll read yours after this.

thetimewarptrio If Halo 3 can be played online and on the One, then it should just be backwards compatible. H3A seems like the easy route for 343, but who knows. I can’t really picture 343 dealing with equipment? That would just be a money grab for them. Ugh.

Money grab or not, I really think that if it’s a $40 game like HCEA, you’ll see a downward trend in Halo 3 voting in the MCC, which seems like a win-win. After all, I feel like they’ve made enough money with as little effort with the MCC and Halo 5, that maybe they can afford to give a little back.

I still just wouldn’t see the point. Halo 3 plays fine on the 360, seems like it would play fine on the One. They missed a nice chance with Halo 3 turning 9 to announce something, so we’ll see what Xbox and Halo look like next year.

When is the next patch coming

That’s just it man. Even if something is in the works, none of us know about it or will know about it.

They’re trying to push MCC under the rug unfortunately.

The MCC f**king destroys Halo 5 in terms of both quantity of content and the quality of said content. IT NEEDS AND DESERVES LOVE!!!

I mean, it better destroy it. It’s 4 games. It deserves love for sure, but it won’t get it.

There’s no doubt MCC has the potential, but Halo 5’s forge has most of it’s appeal for me. Lot of content there too, that is still under-utilized in my opinion. I don’t wanna say 343 sucks, but… they kinda blow. Haven’t tried Spartan Strike/Assault or Halo Wars much so maybe they have something going for them there? Whatever.

MCC needs love for sure.
