The AR is not a competitive weapon. There is no tweak that you can do to the weapon to make it so. There is a reason why all autos were removed from HCS settings in halo 5. It’s because the very nature of holding down the trigger is what’s not competitive. In call of duty it’s a different story but in halo if it’s not a single shot weapon or a burst weapon like the BR then it’s not competitive. I keep seeing people asking for buffs or nerfs. First of all the weapon is fine where it’s at. HOWEVER it should NEVER be a starter weapon. The AR should always be a pick up.
I see people asking for radar in ranked. Sorry but this is a hard no. The radar should never be in ranked and there shouldn’t be a “ranked lite” either. The harsh reality is that no radar takes skill. The only reason HCS settings had one in ranked in halo 5 was because of the ablities and even then the radar wasn’t wanted/needed.
This has to be said. The BR is easy to use. If it wasn’t for the rapid fire mod that some of players use for the side kick then the sidekick is what takes skill In terms of aim. The pace of the shots coming out the sidekick should be lowered and should be used as the competitive weapon.
The cat ears will polorize the community no matter how you spin it. A lot of people are like “what’s the bg deal”. The big deal is that some people only look at Halo in a certain way. The moment you start to add things like cat ears some fans will have a knee jerk reaction because what they have been looking at this whole time is a military shooter. It’s like putting a horse in a car game. Or a pirate hat in a trucking simulator. It doesn’t fit. There is nothing wrong with liking it and if you got it then all power to you. My point is that things like this will alienate and sepreate us more than bring us together.
Another harsh reality is that the content for this game WILL be drip fed. There is no arguing this. Halo 5s cycle of content will happen all over again. Doesn’t matter how big the updates are or what’s in them. The updates will AWLAYS be staggered.
HCS rules over the game design. You can see it in the maps. You can see it in the game play. Everything is revolved around HCS gameplay. That’s why Halo 5 turned out the way it did. (Super sweaty) and Halo infinite is following the same route. This is why we don’t have maps like Halo 3s high ground.
