Hardlight Shield WHY

Why, oh why, would 343 implement Armor Lock 2.0?

Watch this video at 2:05 and tell me it doesn’t look exactly like an Armor Lock.

It’s not a matter of it being overpowered. It’s a matter of it slowing down the game, especially 1v1 encounters.

Someone please explain to me how this could be a good thing.

Armor Lock v2.0? How so? It’s single-directional, and you can take users out with explosives.

Umm, its not like Armor Lock. Its main weakness is the grenade. And you aren’t perfectly invincible. Someone can come up behind you and assassinate you still.

It is most certainly not Armor Lock 2.0. You’re still very vulnerable from the back, and you have a little mobility while using it. A well placed grenade, some good strafing, or a teammate behind them is all you need to clean up the kill.

The guys above me are correct. I was an AL user and it’s nothing like it.

It’s more of a Armor Lock .5, the downgraded version. The only reason he was able to survive that long was because he had his back covered by the wall and by the box.

what? trolls are out tonight my fellow forumers. Don’t fall into their traps. for they are jealous of our precious Halo 4

Armour Lock wasn’t even remotely overpowered lol.

You cannot move in Armour Lock. You can easily face the HLS down a hallway and back down.

It looks nothing like AL. He can still move, he is vulnerable from all sides but one, it can be destroyed.

It’s more designed for objective gametypes. Using it to protect the flag and such. On regular slayer it’s a bit annoying… but only a little

it was pretty over powered o-o imagine this: you try to melee a guy, he uses armor lock, and cancels armor lock and you try to melee him again… armor lock! and people used to use armor lock in ALL situations…

Slayer Pro has it’s own playlist

That’s all that matters.

Put in all the crazy stuff you want, I’ll never use it anyway

Or I could, you know, just shoot instead of herp a derping…

As a top Team Slayer player (a playlist that has always had Armour Lock) I have never had a problem beating people who use it. Not once… When used by good players, sprint and jetpack are far more overpowered than Armour Lock ever was.

The Hardlight Shield is vulnerable to all types of explosives, circle-strafing, and two-man attacks (from multiple directions).

It’s not even close to Armor Lock. With Armor Lock, you were completely invincible, and it had an EMP effect afterwards. Hardlight Shield isn’t even close to being as annoying as Armor Lock.

HLS has had no documented or mentioned changes since we heard about it, not one.

And while HLS might be more vulnerable than AL is some situations, in others it’s even more powerful.

Please, do inform us on your ability to move while using Armour Lock…

Played the game, fought HLS users. Didn’t slow the game down at all. Problem solved.

Well, HLS is a non problem anyway. Everyone is going to be using the blatantly OP PV.

Serious reply: More powerful? You will have to explain.

… Can you try the HLS against a speeding vehicle, grenade or rocket please? Ya know, just let me know how AL-like the results are.
