Very good question actually.
If you watch the MLG E3 gameplay on Haven, you can see that someone using the shield blocks incoming fire from below him by facing down slightly. Unless there’s a limit on how high you can look with it, I’d say it’s possible to block fire from above.
it should be were you look for example if your looking directly up it would be parralell to the ground shielding you from above and making it easier for teamates to jump off of you 45% creating a ramp to avoid splatters. i know this wont happen but it would be fun you could create bridges with people or ramps up stairs
and if im correct it goes into 3rdperson like the thrusters

How so? If someone is on a level above you, you would want to aim the shield towards them to block their fire. Similarly if they were below you, without being able to look down, they could shoot under your shield.

It’d just slow down the players death, and ultimately, slow down gameplay. Just keep it as it is. How often do you need to block fire from above?!

As the above poster said, every time somebody shoots at you from above, which actually happens pretty commonly.

Often if you’re fighting players on higher ground, or jetpacking above you in an attempt to kill you.
> Nah, not needed. Also that would leave you really exposed.
How’s it different than having a shield at the front, when you’re exposed everywhere else?
Imagine your on a map like countdown or sword base, there are a lot of different levels from which you could get shot from, and with out the ability to move the shield vertically, it would be at a disadvantage to the other AA’s.

Isn’t that the point of all AA’s? To help avoid death or kill someone easier?
