Hey how about this; let’s move the hardlight shield to be a primary weapon! Users can equipt their secondary weapon and also use needless and sticky detonators. When it’s lowered you can fire and raise it for the same effect as the hardlight shield.
Also, we can then return everyone’s favorite (mine at least) armor ability armor lock in its place. What do you think? Cool huh.

So what your suggesting is basically like the riot shield from cod?.. And I think that armor lock was a bit over powered, that’s why it isn’t in Halo 4 currently. So I don’t think 343 should really return it.

So you want to have no primary weapon just a shield with a stick detonator and use armor lock for your AA. If this is not a troll post your everything wrong with halo

I’m just going to go ahead and ask. Are you trolling? Time and time again you start these threads with suggestions which are either taken directly from Call of Duty, or wildly unpopular. I swear you can only be looking to start arguments so that you may giggle at your screen like a little girl. I find it impossible to believe that you’re so out of touch with the communities feelings on matters such as this, that you would try and gain support for this kind of thing.
The sad part is, you think we don’t know what you’re doing.

Well you already move so slow when using the shield, that your opponent could easily sprint up to you and melee you. Or simpler yet, just bounce a grenade behind you. Seems fine to me.
Doesn’t Gears of War 2 (I didn’t play the later ones) also have something similar with portable cover?
Technically hunters have used this ‘cod riot shield’ style since halo 1. While I’m not saying halo should rip off cod, I don’t see why anything that cod happens to have is instantly bad.

And even if they did, in COD you only need to get a few bullets around the edge of their shield for a kill. In Halo it would be soooooo hard to take down someone with riot shield.
Imagine if a COD riot shield user had 8X the health… (i.e. the juggernauts from MW3)

Most shooters do have some form of defensive shield you are right. But Halo is not just another generic shooter nor do we want it to be. If I wanted to play an unbalanced game with all of your suggestions (from the last few months) I would play COD but surprisingly I don’t nor do the majority of the community. And those that do play it because its different to Halo. Different is bold for a reason BTW.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again.
It baffles me why people insist on making Halo into your generic unbalanced FPS. Wheres all the originality in that?

Ok, a moderator might ban me but i have to say this: NO NO and NO go play COD if you want to use that -Yoink- and stop trolling everyone in the forum with these stupid threads. You are obviously a COD fanboy in the wrong website or a troll or maybe you just don’t know what you are talking about.
You complain about every little useless thing instead of important problems," OMG the grass is too green and the sky is too blue, the scope of the DMR is bad, we need different bullets for every weapon, infinity slayer needs to have more options for the players WE NEED TO DO SOMETHING OMG" .
Will your next suggestion be " oh get 25 kills without dying and you can call a nuke that kills everyone ? Or make a new super ordnance/ care package with 47 inceneration cannons for the entire team? Or the possibility to have a sniper rifle and a fuel rod gun in the loadout?"
HALO DOESN’T NEED TO BE LIKE COD.

Boom Shield + Gorgon pistol is such an underrated combination in Gears of War.
As for the OP: Tbh, I thought from the start that you were joking. It’s just not a good idea at all.
I’VE GOT IT! You know the deployable shields? The ones that turn from blue to red then burst? The shield could be modeled after that.
After being shot a couple times the shield does the same. Then it must cool down similar to an overheated plasma rifle before use again. Maybe it could even be planted to form a stationary shield like the ones in the campain. I would like having thoes things in matchmaking! It would make for some good tactical moves.

I’m sorry but it just wouldn’t work. I would be fine having the deployable shield as pickup like in Halo 3 for Campaign but it just wouldn’t work in multiplayer.
