harder to splatter, and new way to board

it’s really weird that a scorpion can stub your toe and then you die. I appreciate that vehicles need to be dangerous, but we’re supposed to be super heavy and tough, and the physics don’t match up. Especially when it comes to things like standing on top of a wraith and then being killed as it boosts because the physics freak out.
How about vehicles don’t do damage unless they strike you while moving at something approaching their top speed, and slow vehicles just don’t have the ability to splatter unless they fall on you? (scorpion only, basically) And also how about landing on an enemy vehicle makes you grab onto it, and you can either jump off or trigger the boarding animation? it makes more sense, boarding is just jumping on, why should it always have to be triggered by a button? Plus this would ensure that no physics would freak out because you’d be in the grab animation.
Something vaguely related to that: it would be neat to be able to hitch a ride on friendly single-passenger vehicles by using the same new boarding method i just suggested. (this could be a way to finally let us sit on the scorpion, lol)

Lol, why shouldn’t the Scorpion be harder to board? It’s already 10x easier by default just with Sprint in the game, nevermind Thrusters and all the other ridiculous nerfs to the Scorpion’s performance.

It was done to make the Scorpion viable if anything, not to make complete logical sense.

It is harder to splatter people. I used to, in the other halo games, drive around on a ghost and just nail people. Now that tactic is ineffective and I hardly ride vehicles anymore. I think that in Halo 5 it has become more difficult to control any vehicle. They seem to bounce around and are just hard to handle. I was never the best driver in a vehicle in the first place, other players handle the vehicles like a pro. One thing that I really dislike is that the mongoose has become the most dominant vehicle on an arena map. I get taken out by them all the time. At least when someone is attacking me on a ghost I can usually have some time to take some cover if I can. But a mongoose is like a mini tank and with just one hit I am finished. Nonetheless I would like to see more variety of vehicles on maps (arena). I think one huge flaw is that there is only one map in arena that uses the banshee. I would like to see more maps that use banshees, other flying vehicles would be great, and the mantis. Hopefully that would be something that 343 will do in the future.

then they should make a vehicle that’s better than the scorpion but fills the same role and is suited to fighting spartans without breaking the laws of physics.
regardless, I haven’t had any trouble with the scorpion compared to past games. it moves much faster than in past games, at full speed it’s as fast as a sprinting spartan. It’s mostly down to that snow map that it spawns on not being super scorpion friendly: plenty of corners for people to jump out around, not a lot of free space to maneuver. but if you position yourself well and stay alert you can be real dangerous.
@Erdie: vehicles in halo 5 control slightly better than in past games, in my opinion, it’s just that spartans are more mobile and standards for vehicle control has risen. It’s also probably that they’re all moving slightly faster than they were originally intended to, considering the faster pace of the game. they need to get rid of a bunch of vehicles and drastically retune some old ones in future games. People will whine when it happens, but it’s what the game needs.

So…by your logic does that mean I’m a pro? ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Splattering in Ghost is easy it’s just a matter of timing that final burst of spped !

I dont have a problem splattering people, but boarding needs to be faster. It takes to long to board. Causing players to die easier. Boarding should be only 1 second.

yeah either make it faster or make it a smoother transition to when the boarding player has gained control.

scrapping the current vehicle designs could help them design vehicles that are better suited to boarding animations. Right now we’re still using basically the same stuff that halo 1 made with no consideration of that mechanic existing.

I just sell all my Scorpions for points.
I never get any use from them; much too easy to board and the controls are rubbish for turning.

Physics need massive fixing. Take a look.
