"Hardcore setting" (Mythic)

How cool would it be if there was a kinda hardcore setting for halo.

The player would have no shields but instead armor that would actually be useful.

Bullets would still do damage in armored parts such as the torso or legs but in between armored pieces so the under suit, wouldn’t be able to take as much damage.

Head shots would count as armor too unless you shot directly in the visor in which case your visor would crack after the first shot, and be a kill after the second, or alternatively it would just be a one shot kill the the visor (I haven’t decided yet)

For campaign I think it should be when you beat legendary and it could be called Mythic, like I said before you wouldn’t have shields and depending on where bullets/projectiles land they will either do more or less damage.

Health would regenerate at half the time it normally does.

What do you guys think?

Can’t you just do this in Custom Games? We really don’t need a whole new feature for this when you could just make it in Custom Games.

you couldn’t have the armor being different then the under suit for damage as well as the visor, so no you could not. I wish though.

So nobody has an opinion on this ?

As long as it has it’s own playlist or options, I’m fine with it. I can see it working for swat though.

It would be its own playlist for sure, and yeah swat would work with it too!

A quick question, “Are you talking about campaign, firefight and spartan ops?” If so, how do they approach this idea? Do they give the players, the option to play hardcore mode when they complete the campaign. Or make it harder for and earn it after completing legendary.

If your talking about multiplayer, then I do believe we already have the customization option for forge and custom games. I didn’t include matchmaking because it should not be on Xbox Live unless it has it own dedicated servers and it own playlist.

I wasn’t thinking campaign, it was just an idea I came up with; but now that you mention it.

Also you cant customize it so lets say being shot where there’s armor like the side of the head, torso, legs, back ect… does less damage where being shot right in the VISOR NOT THE HEAD, or the blacks parts in between the armor (undersuit) does more damage.

Meh, it is too much work. Too many different hit-boxes, too many mechanism. Yes next-gen will be powerful, but not enough for this IMO. You can actually build stronger PCs now than the next-gen will be and I did not see anything like that outside of racing games even nowadays.

My answer is just simply no. Even if me meet the requirements, 343 cannot even balance a game properly for a little over half of a year. Yes that was their first game but, just let them work with the core of the second. Every additional thing can come later.

Yeah, I have a better computer then the “nextGen” consoles, except my graphics card -_- I need to upgrade that, burnt my other one out…

I would enjoy to see armor damage. Maybe Visor cracks if you get some shots to the head. Like how it worked in Reach, sadly they could have done more with that campaign but they really didn’t.
