Hard to get better?

I’ll admit I am skilled, but not that skilled.
Why is it that I go from this (at my best):

to this (Average Day):

I feel like I’m not improving. Any tips?

Well I can’t speak to your personal struggles but I have found a few things that make a difference when it comes to playing my best vs. playing my worst.

1 time of day
This matters a lot because the level of quality players shifts depending on your time off day or night. I find that in my area more skilled players seem to be getting on around 6pm my time. Prior to that I usually cake walk through games. I have seen this a ton actually as I have played which is why I put it first.
2 stay hydrated
Your reflexes and response time is at its best when your body is well maintained. I really focus a lot on this and it make more of a difference than I thought it would. I actually have an issue with my nervous system and it can mess with my response time in notable ways ( I drop everything like it’s hot) and hydration can bring my game back when I’m struggling.
3 stay a consistent distance from your screen
So you know that awkward feeling you had in middle School when your body grew too much to fast and you had to almost relearn a lot of coordination and fine motor skills? Well that is kinda what you are doing to yourself when you alter that distance to the TV. It’s like your body got bigger or smaller so when you try to judge the distance to an enemy you brain makes slight miscalculations if you are suddenly closer IRL and that can be the difference in a win and a loss.

5 test other controller setups and sensitivities over a few weeks
It takes time and you have to allow for an adjustment period but find what works best for you.

It might be my hydration. I don’t drink a lot of water. THe higheest I’ve gotten was diamond 5. That was on FFA 2 years ago and since I’ve been getting worse. I usually play 3of 3. some of my friends says it’s my aim. I sometimes over shoot, aka pegging. I also find I get pared with Onyx and Champions a lot. Getting you -Yoink- whooped any time I get on. It makes it hard to improve when your back against they wall the moment you spawn.
