Hard crash (pc)

63-67 degree while playing

Have you tried dialing back your fans and seeing what the temp is like? Dialing back 5% at a time.

I mean, I really can’t provide any links. I’m just going by what I know and tested. For an example, when I’m going for a good TimeSpy score I adjust my fan speed no higher than 75%. At 100% fan speed, even know it’ll get my card very cool around 60°c, it hurts the score because of the full power being pushed for the three fans. Between 70-75% is the sweet spot for TimeSpy for me. Card runs a little hotter at around 75°c but there’s more headroom to boost the clock speeds and the GPU won’t start to throttle until 90°c.

My 5800x and 3080 was ranked 80 in the world a couple months ago in TimeSpy. No idea if I’m even in the top 100 anymore.

Correction, found the screenshot. Ranked 91, top 1% total score of 17770. GPU 19433 CPU 11969.

Run this in Powershell

Get-WinEvent -LogName "Application" | Where-Object {$_.Message -match ".*HaloInfinite.*"} | Select TimeCreated, Message | Format-table -wrap > "C:\Path\to\write\to\report.txt"

It’ll sift through the Windows event log grabbing the ones related to halo infinite. The Format-Table -wrap makes it easier on the eyes and the `> PATH’ simply tells the OS to write the results of the command to wherever the path points. You can omit the ā€˜> PATH’ if you want to view in the terminal.

You’ll see a lot of information that probably doesn’t make sense - what you want to look at is the EventName. If the crash was caused by a memory leak - 343’s programming - it’ll have something like ā€œRADAR_PRE_LEAK_64ā€.

I don’t know enough about hardware to provide help. All I can say is I’d start by examining the System log in event viewer and filter on errors and critical.

EDIT: Corrected the string the message was matching against. I initially had to use a character escape ( a backslash) in the pattern otherwise the forum thought I wanted to italicize the thing in between. Now it seems to display the escape char which fundamentally breaks the pattern. In case the behavior unexpectedly changes again, the pattern to match the message against is ā€œperiod asterisk HaloInfinite period asteriskā€ with no spaces.

Through your Steam settings click on Halo Infinite and I believe it’s titled as ā€œAdd Onsā€. Uncheck the unnecessary items.

Close.

Go to your Steam library, right click on Halo Infinite, click on properties, click on DLC, uncheck ā€œMultiplayer High-Res Texturesā€ and then close the window. It’ll uninstall that pack and show you in the library.

after reinstall, the game still crash the same way.
i will try to uncheck the high res pack, even if it break my heart…
wait for the feedback.

After the 24 february update i am getting random crashes to desktop. I must be very lucky to finish a match without crashing. 343 broke the game after that update.

i new updated as been release about PC crash. hopefully they fixed this problem. we will see.

Made no difference for me with the gamepass version. Was hopeful it worked so I can uninstall the Steam version.

same F…G bug again. i thought they might fixed it so i reinstall the texture pack…it was a mistake. i will try without it.

I’m going to try this thanks . I have a 5950x and a 6900xt that’s crashed all the time. For some reason I have it full optimized to my best ability but one day it runs fine the next it crashes . On my 2070 super and ryzen 7 3700x no crashes , also on my Xbox series x no crashes.

One thing I have noticed was Microsoft notifications when I crashes in my notifications bar. also when I crash it goes back to steam and it says next to the green play button it says unable to sync to cloud .

i suspect too it is related to the windows notification.

Crashing is still happening. Game just crashed in the middle of a ranked game. Looks like I’ll be uninstalling this game for another couple months.

I don’t even know why I still bother with this POS game. It should’ve never been announced when it was when it still needs years before it’ll even be on par when Bungie was releasing the games. Never had these kinds of issues during the launch of any of their games. Had to submit another ticket about the same problem. Now watch as I get another blanket response and nothing will happen for a few months.

I am having the same issues. Have you tried anything new lately that has solved the problem. I’ve tried some many things. lots of digging in forums, reddit, google etc and still cant figure it out. Its the only game that I have ever had crash on me

Only time my PC has ever crashed is when I alt tab too much in and out of it. Which is barely ever.
