Enabling weapon skins in CE causes console crash, the game will freeze with a stuttering noise and the console within seconds afterwards. And today it happened in H3 BTB social multi-flag, I assume weapons skins caused it too.

I would make sure and file a bug report about issues like these. You can do so on the Halo Support site
This is happening to most on Halo 3 BTB or multiplayer in general. Its no longer “optimized” and performance is reduced due to newly added stuff.

I’ve only ever experienced it with weapon skins enabled, ever since I disabled them for CE I have had flawless performance.

I get this even if other players have skins activated.
Yeah this is happening to me too. Just happened twice in the last 30 minutes. One crash shut my box off entirely. The other just kicked me back to the main menu. This is pretty ridiculous.
