Harbinger Achievement

Hi all!

Some quick questions about the Harbinger achievement. I’m reading really contradicting statements around this achievement and am wondering how this cheev works at this moment?
Can I save last checkpoint, and if I die simply close the game, and start the game from that checkpoint? (someone said last checkpoint no longer works) Second question… How do you ever get past the wardens without dying?

Also looking for a co op partner, a helping hand is more than welcome

Thanks!

Congratulations on joining the Halo 5 “Lone Wolf” Solo Legendary club (I see was 20 hours ago)!

My Campaign Stats refuse to save or update on my profile here, but you can see from my Achievements that I unlocked Harbinger on 11/26/2016. It took quite a few goes to pull it off. Note, as I don’t do multiplayer, I still have “raw” Halo 5 Campaign installed off the original disc, so I’ve never had any Halo 5 updates, so no “easier” bits for “Lone Wolf” on Solo Legendary (unlocked 22nd November 2016), nor any idea if the “resume from last checkpoint” works for Harbinger or not, but I didn’t use it anyway. I did use “Save Last Checkpoint” into one of my three save points earlier in the mission. As long as you haven’t died during the mission up to that save, that should work if you should have to leave the game. Then Load rather than resume that checkpoint from the Menu.

You can always try “resume from last checkpoint” before starting the whole mission again, in case it still works.

Tips

Tip 1. The “easiest way” is to avoid dying yourself. I eventually managed to do it, playing with more caution, patience and lots of sniper action, with short breaks on pause.

Tip 2. This short YouTube guide below shows a way round the Warden Fight by jumping up from the springboards, jet-thusting sideways, then ground-pound to reach the ledge. They run through and dodge the fight altogether, but I use this ledge as Sniper Nest instead, as below.

My Sniper Nest Method (3 Wardens on Solo Legendary)

Before leaving the previous area to enter the 3 Warden Chamber, get a full Binary Rifle (1-3 shots per Warden), a full Light Rifle (12 shots per warden), and 2 Forerunner grenades. Let your team take the Incinerator Cannons.

Once in the Warden chamber, use springboards to get up onto that Ledge as in the video, and use the D-Pad to point onto the ledge and direct your team up there too. Then use it as a Sniper Nest to take out all three Wardens. You’ll have your team members alive around you that you can revive, or who can revive you should you get hit at any time.

Use your ammo sparingly, and use D-Pad to direct your team to attack a Warden until you take him down, then repeat until the second and third is gone too. “Payback is sweet!”

A Binary Rifle or Light Rifle shot right in Wardens eyes can work to weaken him, or else wait till his back is turned and hit the black sphere, it’s a weak spot.

As a Sniper Nest, you’re shielded from the Turrets and all Warden attacks from the sides by the glass, as long as you don’t venture too far forward when the turrets are charging up and going to fire - dip back into cover in time.

If the Warden is going to fire one one of his deathrays from his eyes or a black slipspace-sphere attack, dip back on the platform or behind the glass and you’ll be well shielded from it.

If you should run out of ammo, you might have to get back down to ground level for a Light Rifle or other weapons, but keep tucked in tight behind the large pillars to dodge the Turret fire. You could try to take out the Warden from there, especially if you’ve still got got him marked by D-Pad for your team to target too, rather than try to get back up to the Ledge. Timing is important for this trick, so wait till the Warden is close to being taken down anyway.

Good luck, and hope these tips help you to unlock it!

if you mean the achievement where you have to complete (the breaking?) without dying on heroic (or legendary?), then you simply have to take it slow and shoot enemy weakpoints accurately (like knights other shoulder-pad and immediate headshot and the pipe of the cannon when its about to fire ((the orange spot appears)) soldiers and crawlers with headshots obviously. I have heard that you can restart the checkpoint as long as you dont actually die. Though i did it flawless so i cant confirm this. Also you should use the team to distract the enemies while you make enemies shorter by the lenght of heads. There is a warden skip that i can confirm (i tested it later for i was curious whether it actually works. There is 2 ways to do this, the first one is to take either side, jump on top of a pillar near the exit of the room, then jump from that pillar, boost towards the exit and ground pound the exit so you wont fall back to the battle. The second way to do this is to use the graw-lift on either side of the room, boost towards the exit and ground-pound so you dont fall back where the wardens are. Just try to remember where the light-rifles are on the level and keep some Power weapon as a secondary in case you get on a tight situation, the weapons like the cannon or the scattershot and you should be fine.

just write warden skip to YouTube or something like that and you should find it. The video shouldnt take much longer than a minute if the uploader doesnt talk too much before doing the skip or knows how to do it properly.

Hi! Thanks for all your help guys, appreciate it!
