Anybody else happy that we are getting Spartan ops rather than Firefight?
I’d rather have short story-based spartan missions than survival-type game modes.
The idea of short story missions reminds me of the story “Headhunters” which I really enjoyed and I had hoped to see more of. Spartan ops just seems like a nice idea.
I wouldn’t be so sure Firefight won’t be in the game. It’s too popular to just replace like that.
I’d more than likely expect Spartan Ops (how much of a rip-off is that name from Spec-Ops?) to be the official co-op mode where Firefight is just one or two of the missions instead of making it it’s own mode that they have to build maps specifically for.
I love the idea of them finally building a mini-campaign mode specifically for co-op, but does that mean we can’t play regular campaign with 3 other players as well?
Personally I’d rather see both if they could be managed and see FF brought back to an ODST-style setup
Also kinda hope Spartan Ops gets a name change. Ideally to go along with lore Headhunters would be a perfect match for what it describes and I certainly wouldn’t mind them taking out the headhunter gametype as Regicide could possibly cover it’s base.

If the info we got is true then the former should be correct which is good.
Adding to the story and univerese is the plus for me.
I need to see it to give my opinion.
I just wish they called it something else. Spartan Ops sounds beyond childish and like they gave no effort for a name.
Heh >_> H4 has AC-type multiplayer, gonna be progressive system like Reach with a similar side story type as AC with the videos as you rank up; Kinda sweet actually :o
I’m sorta indifferent. I might prefer it because of how Reach’s campaign featured firefight esque encounters. It’s getting tiring fighting off swarms of enemies. Especially when in most Halo games, you’re underpowered.
I’ve done it in H3, H2, and especially in CE. The only time I actually felt like fighting them off was in CE (on Heroic and higher), because I had powerful weapons at my disposal, could survive in cqc, and the enemies didn’t feel cheap or op.
I don’t know yet. I think my happiness will depend on how fleshed out the story elements are in the Spartan Ops missions. I was never a huge fan of Firefight though.
If Fire Fight is not going to be the one from Halo 3 ODST then get rid of it. Halo Reach Fire Fight was made for noobs. That’s why I hope that Spartan Ops will be like Headhunter series on Halo Waypoint.
