Hello everyone,
Happy Birthday to the Chief! April 1st 2018 is the 125th birthday of the US Navy Chief! Established in 1893 as a way for Sailors to continue service as originally the rank of Chief was a title awarded by the Commanding Officer for First Class Petty Officers to establish their seniority. On 20 May 1958 established the ranks of Senior Chief Petty Officer and Master Chief Petty Officer (like the one we all know and love) as the highest enlisted rank in the US Navy. Today is the 125th year since it was established as an official rank. I wish to express thank you for using a long Naval tradition instead just a typical “space marine” to Bungie and 343.
