I don’t know what made Halo “good” for you, but the everyone else Reach was far from “Halo” or “good”.

I get that Reach may have broke cannon.
I understand that compared to 117 Noble team seemed no better than the ODST squad.
I understand that AA’s changed the multiplayer gameplay.
But after recently going back and playing halo 2 and 3.
In my opinion, Reach kicks the crap out of them.

The canonical? part im refering to is John or Linda in cryo, and the PoA still docked on reach that far into the invasion.

Still the second biggest disappointment, though.

Honestly tho, Reach took halo to its limits. Franchises need to stay fresh. They do this by moving forward, trying new things.
Jason Jones said it very clearly in a Reach post release Vidoc : Its always a gamble between what you can add or take from the core halo exp without putting off groups of people.
343i have this problem to. But they have a harder job. Problems they have to face include;
*What now? Covie-human war is over
*What story do we tell?- Halo as we know it is over and done with.
*How do they keep it fresh, new and relevant but still apeal to the core halo fan.
The challenges they face with all that, for them it is up hill both ways.
So yeah, I mean you can kick reach for changing things, trying new things and building ontop of the halo 2/3 exp.
But really, where else could you take the franchise to keep it fresh? Remember that reach is a prequel, which is chronologically easier to do than begin a whole new trilogy.
Personally i think Reach took halo at its current form (from the original trilogy) as far as it could go.
