personaly I think that the new Hannibal vehicles should not be able to be hijacked, or at least resistance to emp, all I’m saying is I feel a huuuuge rage quitting coming when someone gets out their first Hannibal mantis and then bang! And the dirt is gone !
They need to change the mantis back to Halo 4’s that it was only hijackable from the sides or back of the vehicle
I think that would kinda ruin the mechanics. Exploits abound!

You are asking for a buff for a vehicle we haven’t even see, haven’t we had enough of these already.

I wasn’t asking for a buff, I was asking opinions, if you like the idea of loosening a whole legendary mantis that’s fine
non-hijackable vehicles would be too OP. I have another idea doe-EMP resistant vehicles. I asked for EMP resistant vehicles way back in November 2015 and It seems like we are getting some since the mantis’s stomp releases an EMP charge so it’s got to be resistance.

Read your original post and the title at no point do you say, “What do you think of this?” or anything along those lines. Removing boarding would make vehicles even more powerful, we don’t even know how the New Mantis or the New scorpion are going to play. They may be the most powerful vehicles ever or they may be a waste of time. Adding things to them before you see them is silly, especially if they are game breaking additions. As for losing one when it’s called in. I may. I’ve lost vehicles before without getting a shot off and every time it was my fault. I didn’t make sure no one was camping the spawn and I paid the price. If someone is willing to rage quit because a vehicle gets destroyed than I hope they enjoy the ban that results.

or just have it so it can only be jacked if its empd
Yes, lets make the already obviously seriously powerful vehicles EVEN MORE POWERFUL.
Then we can have 10 threads about how OP the new vehicles are. Woop woop.

So you basically want to be able to roam around carelessly without being aware of your sorroundings?
Yeah… no.
There is an anti-hijack methods in place, it’s called paying attention and not putting yourself in stick situations.

Its Called Stomp is bloody useless!

At the very least make it like the prev halo whr we had to bash open the engine/cockpit area before planting the grenade
I think a gauss turret mantis and a laser tank (rumors i think) is literally overpowered already
If they can’t be hijacked it would make them way to overpowered that is why it is a risk to use vehicles like that.
No, no, no, if you remove it entirely then vehicles go from feeling, generally, fairly under-powered (in survivability and staying power, only, although some vehicles such as every type of wraith and mantis, as well as the phaeton, offer a relatively pathetic threat signature when not fully supported by teammates) to being objectively overpowered in multiple scenarios. Personally, I think the best answer is the reasonable compromise of toning down the ruthlessness of the process of boarding and destroying a vehicle, as a whole. As dozens (possibly hundreds) of people have already said, the mantis simply should not be mountable from the front. It’s ridiculous, especially when taking into consideration the worthlessness of the stomp attack as it exists now (slow, immobilizing, and possessing a barely existent AOE damage profile that also seems to vanish outside of a 45° angle). I also feel that boarding at a direct frontal angle is somewhat unreasonable for wraiths and even scorpions, to a degree (man, scorps are remarkably slow, aren’t they?! Even a slight boost to acceleration alone would help matters). Second, and probably more importantly, the speed of execution and the second and a half window between contact and doomed state, for boarding and planting the grenade, is far too forgiving. The fact that no smashing or hatch-destruction is required before a grenade can be used, providing a guaranteed kill, means that it’s incredibly unlikely that a teammate, even in full view of the boarding event, will be able to save the target vehicle.
I’ll go into more detail and further clarify my point later, but I think a lot of it speaks for itself.

Obviously, you’re totally correct.
Side note, I’m not sure I’ve heard anybody else mention this, but I think it would go a long way towards making the existing mantises more viable if their weak and inaccurate MG simply didn’t have the substantial and overly punishing spin-up period.
