Hands down the WORST "Halo" game

This isn’t Halo. This is a mashup between CoD and Fortnite. 343i getting rid of Thruster, Spartan Charge, Auto Stabilize, and Ground Pound (that were introduced in H5 and gave “Combat Evolved” a whole NEW meaning) was not only bold but a HUGE step backwards. Oh but don’t worry they thought of that, they simply replaced these enhanced Spartan Abilities with “pick ups” that are limited in their usage. YEAH! That’s a reasonable trade off. Whatever. Halo Infinite is the official death of the Halo saga.

Achieving 152 seems pointless now since the in-game rewards aren’t worth it because the game itself is trash

Enjoy continuing playing Halo 5.

Most of us like it.

I love the new direction and I dont want to deal with special ability spam like in previous Halo iterations.

have a snickers

Jokes aside, this is potentially the minority view (based on general consensus accross social media, forums etc). I of course dont have the data to say that with certainty. Many make the argument the points you just stated are actually the reason why h5 didnt feel like halo given Halo (ever since CE) has been sandbox focused. That meaning that the combat flow isnt about starting player power but putting that power external to the player to be earned. Those fights create variation between matches and battles within the matches itself.

Once you remove sandbox orientated gameplay, funny enough the combat flow does go towards other shooters. Dont get me wrong, 5 still went back to weapon map pick ups, but the general match flow never really varied. For me, there was never real adaptation in its combat. I knew all powers everyone had at all times which made combat pretty predictable. Predictability is good in some areas but when each combat scenario played the same, even with different weapons, it just began to feel like a twitch shooter with a longer ttk. Twitch shooters always feel the same regardless of what the player is carrying, hence the comparison.

I find the fortnite statement kind of funny as fortnite is very much a sandbox shooter. Though its sandbox does not really interact with itself in the way halo’s does. Anyway, thats an entirely different topic.

Sucks you dont enjoy it but oh well. Have fun with whatever game you decide to play instead

Anybody that says that any Halo game is like a CoD game or Fortnite of all things lol has never played either of these games themselves. I’ve played almost every CoD game(up to Bo3 at least) and Halo 5 the one that is most often compared to CoD feels nothing like a CoD title.

Second sentence in and I’m already convinced this is a troll post.

It seems more to me like they made a Halo: Greatest Hits (in a good way) and found a perfect marriage of legacy and modern titles.

I feel a lot of H5 in Infinite while I’m playing, sorry you don’t. The repulser and grapple (and rumored thruster equipment returning) offer stone excellent advanced movement mechanics to put a solid skill gap in there

It has to be a troll how could you make that comparison

All I got from this was It’s not a Halo 5 clone therefore Halo is dead

Nah, H5G still holds that title…

Wow. I remember people saying the exact same thing when H5 released. Complaints about the new features and saying H5 was the death of Halo.
We can’t judge a game or the “death” of a franchise based off of beta testing. I’ve had more fun playing Infinite than I did playing Halo 5 fwiw.

Except Halo 4, that was a CoD Halo and I HATED it. Lol

The way you’re feeling, is the way a lot of the community felt during the duration of H5.

Dude just keep playing Halo 5 then, Halo 5 was 1 game, Halo was never about Spartan abilities. You can keep posting all you want about wanting a continuation of Halo 5 but you’ll never get your wish because you’re a very small minority of the player base.

I haven’t played halo in years, honestly feels like halo 3/reach combined to me - classic halo feel

Imagine complaining about CoD when halo 5 is wayyyy more CoD over infinite.

I’m enjoying it; as much as I enjoy Halo 5, 3, 2, and CE. Fanboy for life, yo.

But hey, keep your chin up. I’m sure there’s someone out there for you too.

You’re nuts man, Infinite just brought Halo back from the dead, it’s the best game since 3, and in my opinion, superior. Infinite is incredible.

Bruh. Most fun ive had in Halo since Halo 3. And all my gaming mates agree. I mean, you can have an opinion, just don’t get upset if the majority of people disagree with yours.

Nah, Reach says hi. At least H5 kept equal starts in arena. Reach had bad gameplay AND non-equal starts (and generally bad maps). Anyone can sat what they want about H5, but at least it kept true to equal starts arena roots
