What’s the deal recently with all of the kids in firefight using the handicap settings? Every game i’m in the kids seem to trade in their rocket launcher for inferior weapons then send me messages complaining about how I’m “stealing” all the kills. Meanwhile the same kids are either flying above the map nonsensically or sitting back doing nothing and getting assists. These kids get particularly incensed when they miss out on vehicle kills. Any idea on what these kids’ problems happen to be? Almost every game nowadays is just a constant stream of poorly-aimed fuel rod gun BS in which the kids for the most part quit out after they realize they can’t keep up with me
You won’t find good players (challenging your score on a regular basis) at every corner on Firefight, very simple.
And the ones trying to disturb you if you want to snipe things from a good spot, I had players shooting/melee for no obvious reason too but never got a message.
Maybe people are mad seeing your superior skill, I can see such behaviors that way.
Sorry, I had quite a bit to drink before posting that last night so I may not have been as clear as I like. I was just wondering what the deal is nowadays with kids in that playlist using inferior weapons and then rage quitting and complaining about me “stealing” the kills(happens more often when, like yesterday, a challenge happens to be X kills on a certain map). It happens pretty much every game now and as a day one player of this game I see this more and more frequently as time goes on.
I don’t sit at the back of the map and snipe ever as that’s incredibly boring. Actually anytime I see anyone in any weird spot that should be a soft kill zone I make sure to do whatever I can to take them off of it. If they want to fill their perfectionist commendation they’ll have to earn it like the rest of us…it would behoove them, if that was their goal, to not trade in their rockets and end games more quickly anyway.
Arcadefight is a decent mode to overuse a specific weapon it could be the reason and if there is a good player in the room they will have a hard time to score kills.
- the commendation hold no weight it can be easily farmed on 2X Score Attack (where difficulty is almost meaningless it’s easier than Arcadefight) . I have multiple reasons myself to snipe but it’s not to avoid dying.
The score attack playlist is an awful way to earn that commendation. You get one per game at most, whereas in firefight with a full room of non-handicap-setting users you could get three in the same amount of time, if not less. I must admit I do pick up snipe if heretics spawn in the second round but other than that why handicap yourself by selecting it in the beginning of the game? I do enjoy when kids select that to start and then inexplicably commit suicide immediately upon spawning, thus allowing me to procure it.
It’s slow (or not) but steady, if you play a bit agressive I think it can be faster and it’s impossible to run out or fire since attacks are twice as powerful, meaning the Plasma Pistol and Spiker are beasts.
I only snipe on maps with a decent sniping spot (Installation 04, Glacier, Beachhead or Outpost) , if I have the map I see if I want to do it and proceed to select the first package, then I play the game until I pick up a Focus Rifle (as soon as wave 1 or never) , trading the Needler in the process and making the Fuel Rod Gun my personal defence weapon. Very handy on Outpost since my sniping spot is the broken cannon. No handicap.
EDIT : if you are the rocket player kind think about melee weapons against heretics.
Focus rifle? Needler?? If you’re using these inferior weapons then you’re exactly the type of kid I’m talking about in my post…I mean I suppose in score attack this behavior is acceptable for commendation purposes but for the firefight playlist? You’ve got to be kidding lol if you’re trying to troll, you’re failing miserably.
Oh and thanks for the tip about pressing the B button vs heretics, I completely forgot that existed and will be sure to incorporate this completely newfound tactic into my repoitoire(no clue how to spell this pathetic French word).
The Focus Rifle can chain weak targets better than a Sniper Rifle over time, can stunlock them and do not punish misses too much, a good kill stealing and assist weapon too. *can be used at close range unscoped too
RL or FRG may be top weapons to get a good kill count but others can do the job on the right map. One day I had a DMR as tool of destruction on Corvette instead of the RL because it was simply better at taking down all the soft targets and unshielded survivors (not to mention the extra points for headshots) .
About heretics I was talking about using an Energy Sword or a Gravity Hammer (the later can do damage during a first wave right as the enemies land) because taking them out in the open is fairly dangerous plus if your main weapon do everything else why not just in case.
And the sniper rifle can’t be used unscoped at close range? And as far corvette, yeah I’ve had plenty of games of score attack where the DMR was my tool of destruction; as for firefight though why even bother using it other than, in the first round, when heretics spawn and you want to upgrade your pistol? As for using the hammer, no thanks as it sets off the various grenades lying around…off-host I do sometimes grab sword as firefight can be incredibly laggy and precision weapons can become very frustrating to say the least
It’s harder with a Sniper Rifle, the Focus Rifle has that aim assist thing which make enemies a magnet for the beam (also larger than a bullet) .
For the DMR that’s simple it’s the secondary weapon when I do not pick another for defence, to have something more pratical and to save the RL from reloading at a bad moment in the case the next wave is about to spawn enemies, if you have many Grunts or Skirmishers spread across the room the DMR should be more effective too.
It’s easier to multi kill Grunts and Jackals as they land and the hammer is damn useful during the bonus round to catch a Grunt and a free shield reload, Plasma Grenades are mostly useful to destroy the turret on dropships.
Based on your last reply you clearly have very little experience in the firefight playlist so I won’t lay into you too badly…thanks for your replies though, I was very curious as to the reasonings behind why kids opted for the handicap settings which only serve to slow down gameplay.
